About the Author

R. J. PALACIO lives in NYC with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. For more than twenty years, she was an art director and graphic designer, designing book jackets for other people while waiting for the perfect time in her life to start writing her own novel. But one day several years ago, a chance encounter with an extraordinary child in front of an ice cream store made R. J. realize that the perfect time to write that novel had finally come. Wonder is her first novel. She did not design the cover, but she sure does love it.

I read all three of these stories and loved them. They teach children and adults so much about what a child with disabilities goes through in life. It told the whole story about feelings and thoughts of children. I have told all my reader friends about the need to read these stories.

This book is absolutly amazing. I had read it ove the summer and was done with it a couple hours later. I am a fast reader though. At first i was a little confused with whom was whom except for the Julian chapter because t wasn't tjeir real name, but as you read it you can figure it out. As soon as I read wonder I wanted to read the other books for it. It was a very touching story, and so is this one. For eaxample, I always wondered what the problem wa with Julian, well at first. But then after reading his chapter it all made sense. I can't wait to watch the movie finally. This book is wonderful if you like wonder and if you wonder.

My favorite chapters were definitely The Julian Chapter and Charlotte's chapter, but I did also enjoy Chris's chapter. Julian's backstory was intriguing, and I also loved his grandmother's story, even though it was heartbreaking. With Julian's chapter, I love how he learned a lesson, even if it took him a while to learn it. With Chris's chapter, I could understand how he got annoyed at certain things. I found humor in Charlotte's chapter, and the drama was definitely something that was easy for me to relate too. I loved how the dance brought three girls from separate groups together and how they somewhat remained friends after the performance, but still stayed within their friend groups. All three stories are excellent companions to Wonder.
