Reviewed by Natasha Jackson for Readers' Favorite Baking for Keeps: The Bachelor Bake-Off Book 4 by Jessica Gilmore is the story of Lacey and Zac. Lacey craves security after spending much of her childhood being dragged from one place to another by her musician parents, so as a teenager she stops in Marietta with her aunt and, nearly a decade later, she’s still there. Zac, though, he’s had a pretty harsh childhood and his adult response is to always keep moving. He’s not much of a 'join the community' kind of guy and he’s completely fine with that. Jessica Gilmore did a good job of telling and showing who Lacey and Zac were, and keeping with that throughout the story. Along with the secondary characters, who were really fun, this is a solidly clean romance that takes place around the Bachelor Bake-Off. Despite their differences in Baking for Keeps, Lacey and Zac were very similar and had the same problems. They simply went about achieving them differently, which was clear right from the beginning. The story itself was a good one, but Lacey and Zac weren’t particularly interesting characters and I felt their love story lacked chemistry, even as they spent time together learning to bake. I enjoyed the Bake-Off events, her eccentric aunt and the few interactions with the other bachelors a lot. Small town Marietta has a lot to offer and the author, Jessica Gilmore, painted a beautiful picture of the town, life in it, and all the different townspeople who lived there. For me, the romance was secondary to everything else, but with that being said, Baking for Keeps was a good read.

Lacey runs the local radio station in Marietta. After a nomadic childhood she's happy she's finally found a home. She lives with her great aunts who run a guesthouse and are professional bakers. Lacey is helping with the local bachelor Bake-Off, an event to raise money for charity. She films the contestants. Lacey's brother is supposed to be one of them, but last minute obligations are forcing her to find a replacement, the best option is their new guest Zac, but will he say yes? Zac prefers the anonymity of large cities. He doesn't like small town life, because it's too intimate. When he meets Lacey he's intrigued and before he knows it he's saying yes when he means no and is part of the bachelor Bake-Off. Zac has no baking experience and the baking gene seems to have passed Lacey, so he challenges her to do a contest of their own. Who is going to win and what will happen when Lacey and Zac spend a lot of time together? Baking for Keeps is a fun romantic story. Lacey used to travel all the time and is now never going anywhere again. Her life is a little too safe and she could use a challenge. The silent and distant Zac definitely provides one, he isn't an easy man to defrost. The lovely gentle man Zac, however, has his reasons to stay away from others and I kept hoping he'd loosen up a little. There are plenty of sparks between them and their easy friendship was great to read about. I especially enjoyed witnessing their time in the kitchen, it isn't always a succes, but that makes the story even sweeter. Jessica Gilmore's heartwarming writing style made me fall in love with Baking for Keeps straight away. The main characters are both kindhearted and wonderful. Marietta suits them and I loved reading about the vibrant small town. There's always something going on and people are there for each other, I liked that community spirit very much. Especially since it's being combined with a delicious story about finding the one. Baking for Keeps is sweet, tasty and endearing.

Super sweet read in the Bachelor Bake-off series- Baking for Keeps is the 4th book. Jessica Gilmore writes with such a happiness that you can't help but to fall in love along with Lacey & Zac. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Persistance is the Key Zac Malone caught my attention in early stories and I was wondering about his mystery. He is the type of guy with a really hard exterior and in all actuality is a softy hidden deep with in. Lacey likes to play it safe but is very persistent. She is the opposite as she is very extrovert in public to hid her weakness, where Zac becomes an introvert. I enjoyed how she kept pecking at Zac to get him to open up. The ending was my favorite part and the way Zac showed that he loved Lacey. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Lacey Hathaway runs the local radio station while putting on her own show. When her brother unexpectedly backs out as a bachelor for the Marietta Bachelor Bake Off she turns to Zac Malone who is staying with her aunts temporarily. Zac doesn't do community but when he enters Marietta things begin to change. When he agrees to be part of the Bake off he puts his competitive nature to work by challenging Lacey to learn to bake right along with him not realizing he was also putting his heart out there too. Can the two escape the Bake off without a broken heart or will they find a life together? I loved this book. It is my favorite of the series so far. It had me laughing and really rooting for the main characters.

Baking for Keeps: A Bachelor Bake-Off Romance by Jessica Gilmore This is Lacey Hathaway and Zac Malone's story. Lacey and Zac's story is another sweet and clean addition to the Bachelor Bake-Off series. Lacey wants security in life after being moved everywhere by her parents. Zac had a bad childhood so in order to protect himself he doesn't let people get close to him. Will these two let their guards down to take a chance on love? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I loved this one! Zac Malone and Lacey Hathaway are complete opposites whose current lives are influenced by their pasts. Zac is a loner who prefers not to make connections or rely on anyone. Lacey craves familiarity, surrounded by people she knows and loves. When Zac’s job brings him to Marietta, the only place available for him to stay is a room at the B&B run by Lacey’s aunts, who also have a small baking business they run out of the house. Preferring sterile hotel rooms, Zac’s plan to keep to himself is quickly blown out of the water. Lacey is content with her life and excited about her involvement in the Bachelor Bake-Off. When her brother backs out of his visit to Marietta and participation in the Bake-off, Lacey and her Aunts are scrambling to find a replacement for their Sponsorship. Zac is intrigued by the way the people of Marietta are actually working together to help those in need, unlike the town he grew up in. His only condition: Lacey has to learn to bake with him, and participate in a mini bake-off before his actual competition. I enjoyed Lacey and Zac. Their interactions were fun and Lacey was a genuinely likeable person who was content with where she was in life. Each challenged the other’s view of their life and saw that they could have more than they realized, and that sometimes being a bit of a nomad or having ties to people or places is not such a bad thing. This was a well-written story packed with interesting characters. The bake-off and its goals were front and center, and I had fun with the mini competition between Lacey and Zac. The secondary characters were enjoyable as well, and I loved Lacey’s Aunts and their place in the town. This was a very enjoyable read and a great addition to both the Bachelor Bake-off Series and Marietta. **I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Copy provided by the Publisher via NetGalley

Yet another great story in the Bachelor Bake Off series. Something about guys who know nothing about baking stepping up and competing to raise funds for a great cause just makes me swoon. Lacey and Zac were great main characters. They both have their issues (she really likes to talk - a lot), but they fit so well together and really brought out the best in each other. I loved the depth of Zac's personality and how much we learned about his past and why he was so closed off when he arrived in Marietta. I really enjoyed this story.

I'm really enjoying this Bachelor Bake Off series, even though it has driven me into a baking frenzy. And understandably today it was an apple cinnamon cake because that's what reminded Zac of Lacey... This series is sweet, clean, and has that Marietta family focus on them, at least on the books I have read so far. I enjoyed that in Baking For Keeps the author brought forward more about the Harry's House, that the money is collected for, and in a practical way showed how it could change a young person's life, what the impact of the house could be in the community. Zac Malone came from outside Marietta, and I liked that there's new blood coming into the town. Zac was a serious, goal-oriented person. He has a kind and caring heart if he just gives it a freedom to get attached. He had it tough when he was a teenager, and promised himself to make a better life, and that goal in mind he had lived his whole adult life. He was not the settling down type, he was not going to share his life with anyone, to get attached, he was not going to get rejected and hurt like that again. Lacey Hathaway's family lived the nomad life from one music show or concert hall to the next. She had always longed for a home and have found a place where she feels that, with her aunts. Lacey is always ready to help others, she has a heart of gold. Talking to others and making them feel comfortable around her comes naturally to her, but sharing her inner thoughts and personal life isn't something she is comfortable with. She hides behind the bubbly and cheerful exterior, still holding others at the distance. I liked Lacey and Zac together, the connection and chemistry between was just right. The things they did around the town reminded me why I love visiting Marietta so much. The conversations they had, the way they challenged each other to be more, to step out of the comfort zone gave an in-depth look at them, and their development through the story. If you like stories that are adorable and delightful, that will make you smile and sigh, that are clean in content with tender and gentle first steps into the relationship, (and that just might give you the urge, desire, and craving to bake,) you are going to love Baking For Keeps. ~ Four Spoons

I truly enjoyed reading Baking for Keeps written by Jessica Gilmore, the fourth entry in the Bachelor Bake-Off series. In this story, we meet Lacey Hathaway, local DJ at KMCM and videographer who lives with loving yet eccentric aunts. She loves Marietta as it represents everything she has always wanted after living on the road with her musical parents. Zac Malone ends up staying at the guest house of Lacey’s aunts as he visits Marietta for a work project. Zac is a quiet, keep to himself bachelor. When Lacey’s brother backs out of the Bachelor Bake-Off, Lacey recruits Zac to take his place to help raise the funds that will help the local children. He agrees only if Lacey will also learn with him, from her talented aunts. Both Zac and Lacey learn that maybe who they currently are is not enough as they heat up the kitchen with their baking. My favorite word in this story is discombobulated. Used by both Zac and Lacey regarding how the other affects them. I loved how each character was able to help the other open their eyes, and their mind, to there being other possibilities than the life each was currently living. This story really resonated with me, exemplifying all that a small town should be. This was a sweet, fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I am truly looking forward to the next entry in the Bachelor Bake-Off series. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Very enjoyable read! I really liked these characters. Lacey with her outgoing easy way and Zac's lone wolf persona are a perfect opposites attract couple. As with the other bachelors Zac is roped into the bake off. Having no skills for baking he definitely needs help and Lacey is the woman to help him. With more than just baking too! This is book 4 of the Bachelor Bake-Off series but each of these can be read standalone. I highly recommend this one.
