” We’re all broken. So what? None of us get through life without bumps, bruises, and a few shattered dreams. What matters is what we do with the unshattered ones. “ – Melissa Foster Sometimes you start in a book and from the very first page you are touched by the story. Bayside Escape is so perfectly put together. Melissa Foster, you went to a whole other level with writing Bayside Escape. I can’t even explain with the right words. It just clicked, everything. From the first glimpse Violet and Andre shared, till how Violet does things, till the perfect ending. You couldn’t have write it better. Violet and Andre never stopped loving each other, and after the dust of anger and hurt settles, passion ignites even hotter than before in Bayside Escape. As the end to Andre’s time at the Cape nears, reality sets in, leaving them no closer to a future than they were before. Violet and Andre are forced to dig deep to discover if they’re destined to live apart forever or if true love really can conquer all. Violet is the most wonderful extraordinary woman I have ever read about. She has so many layers, and the awesomeness is that they all connect. Even in ways she herself doesn’t recognize. But the world would be so beautiful with people like Violet in it. Only helping people, volunteering, because of the deed and not because of the recognition you might get. 5* STARS: Bayside Escape by Melissa Foster surprised me in many many ways. It touched my heart in many many ways. It changed my view to the world. To what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. It is the most wonderful read I had in a very long time. Thank you. ” I finally know the true meaning of home. It isn’t about whether I spent my childhood there or how many years I’ve lived somewhere. It’s a feeling of safety, and unconditional love. “ – Melissa Foster

This is the best romance book I have read in a while. This second chance romance about Violet and Andre is a beautiful story mixing family, sorrow, friendship, love, passion in lovely paragraphs. It all begins with Lisa, Violet and Desiree's mother, and it had me thinking about motherhood a lot while reading the book. It is difficult and hard, maybe she choose what was best for her but Melissa Foster managed to redeem her in the book in a nice way. Violet and Andre have so much feelings and love, their story is so much that I could not stand reading the book and had to stop for a while and begin again without crying. I really love this book, but next one please don't make me cry so much!

The appeal of Violet is that she holds nothing back. Her boundless energy, fiesty spirit and smart mouth are how she copes with a broken heart. Why is it that the people that exude such strength on the outside tend to be covering up the bruises they carry on the inside? Andre and Violet are a wound that never had the chance to heal. Their relationship is messy, endless and in need of more than a bandage. The wounds cut deep. The pain has a life of it's own. For Andre, Violet is the one who walked away and left him with a broken heart. For Violet, Andre is the man who has the power to break more than her heart. Bayside Escape takes a mess and turns it into something beautiful. Unforgettable is too tame a word to describe this couple. Soul - stirring is more accurate.

Hands down this is my favorite Bayside couple by far, and I have loved them all, but Violet and Andre hit bullseye with all the feels. I loved every minute of their story. Their powerful feelings instantly begin to stir deep inside as they are unexpectedly reunited at Desiree and Rick's wedding. Andre's pain and sense of loss since losing Violet previously is really quite overwhelming. Both confused on how things ended before, their infectious feelings for each other go from pain and built up tension to the deepest longing that simply oozes of the pages in to your heart, so clear, so emotional. Violet has so many walls surrounding her from years of feeling hurt, unloved, and abandoned that she copes by putting up a hard exterior and comes out with some awesome wise cracks to cover how she really feels deep down. She's a girl who speaks her mind with no second thoughts, tact and diplomacy go right out of the window. I liked Vi before but I came to love her so much after this. Andre is heaven sent, he gently and lovingly chips away at her battle amour with love and encouragement to allow her softer, vulnerable side to appear here and there. With patience, which Andre will have, there's no doubt in my mind that theirs is a beautiful love waiting to grow stronger day by day. They know each other so well, they have a beautiful understanding of each others wants, strength and weaknesses and how to bring the best out of each other. Gaining a better understanding of Lizza's ways was another plus point, even though alien to most people, I could see how her thought pattern worked and how she could perceive her actions as good intentions. Emotional in parts, fun in others, this was such an uplifting and enjoyable read, when I finished I was left with a full heart and a smile on my face.

Don't judge a girl with tattoos I am so happy that finally Violet had her own story. This girl may look a bad girl because of her tattoos, but she is one amazing girl with a heart that is full of kindness. I am really enjoying her story, so far, this is my favorite among the Bayside Summer book series. Prepare your heart to be melted with scenes not only it is hot but Violet's hidden gestures that she hides from her family and friends. I hope to have this book in my bookshelves one day. Ms. Melissa Foster, you melt y heart away with Violet's story.

Violet and Andre prove to us that different can often mean difficult; but not impossible. Violet's free spirit and Andre's strong roots are a combination that most would think couldn't work -- yet with time, the lines blur and we see how deep the two intertwine with another. Our hearts ache at how Violet could up and leave Andre; but as we dive into her life, it's easy to understand why she left. Andre takes what little he has left of Violet and seeks her free spirit by traveling the world, pursuing his passions. Fast forward and the couple finds themselves sitting on opposite sides of the table. Violet is settled and Andre has developed a love for picking up to move as he pleases. It would be easy to see how he'd be drawn to leaving her in the same fashion, but when there is heat, that's hard to run from. And goodness -- there is heat! Melissa hits all those right places with her romantic encounters between this pair. I know I flushed and felt my heart flutter, causing me to gasp a few times! Violet's strong, hidden side acted as her protection but I loved how she expressed her self outwardly - you can't help to love her! Andre made me cautious -- too cautious -- but it opened up a view I'd never seen before. He was more closed off than Violet, in my opinion. By the end of the book, my heart was consumed by the love between the pair. Normally I add the male character to my 'book boyfriend' list but this time, I have a girl crush on Violet! I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

No one should doubt by now that I am a HUGE Melissa Foster fan. One of the things I love about her books is how the secondary characters are as much a part of the story as the main characters. Violet has been a secondary character in the Bayside Summers books from the beginning and I’ve always been curious about her story. With each Bayside Summer book I read, I learned a little more about her but Bayside Escape is her story and her time to tell her tale and her time to find her true love and happiness. Violet has always been a tough as nails, do her own thing, live her own life girl. Now that she lives at Bayside with her sister and friends I get to see a softer (but not too soft) side to Violet. I love how she does her own thing but yet always seem to have advice, an ear, or a shoulder to cry on for her friends. I was excited to see her open her heart and let love in all while hoping that she doesn’t lose her snarky attitude. Andre is the answer to who holds Violet's heart and from the first time she sees him at Bayside, there was no doubt that sparks were going to fly and things were about to change for Violet. I was worried when he showed up with Lizza but knew that he belonged to Violet. He is perfect for her. He supports her, loves her, pushes her, and lets her find her own answers when needed. He knows when to ask permission and when to just lead the way. Violets reaction to him is perfect. The snarkiness comes out first then the love quickly follows. This is the perfect addition to the Bayside Summer Series. With this series, each book is a complete story. The characters make appearances in each other’s books but they each have their own book. The books can be read in any order.

Violet has always been one of my favorite characters. She just has so much going on for herself. She may not see it but she definitely has it all together. I've been waiting to read Violet's story. I was unsure if the man she left behind would play a part in her story or not but I love that Melissa Foster brought Andre back into Violet's life. Bayside Escape definitely kept me on my toes as I followed the life Violet had built for herself in the states. I was torn, at times, that Violet would find Andre again only for him to leave. Pick up a copy of Bayside Escape to see what ends up happening with Violet and Andre. You will not feel let down. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Bayside Escapes is full of amusement, romance, and friendships. All the characters in this story help bring this book to life and make it a fun read. Violet seems like a strong woman who is not afraid to say what is on her mind. Violet's lack of filter is my favorite thing about her. Violet is far more than she seems. She has a huge heart, but she keeps it guarded. Andre is determined, a leader, and caring. Falling in love before made him rethink his life and what he wanted to do with his career. He seems like a natural people-person and wants to do good. I wish the story would have reflected or had flashbacks of when Violet and Andre first met. With Violet's personality, I'm sure it would have been very entertaining. I really enjoyed getting to know a few new characters in the Bayside community. I really hope Justin gets his own story. I received this story as an Advance Reader's Copy. I volunteered to leave my review. All opinions are my own.

We first met Violet when Desiree and Rick met in Bayside Desires and I have loved her character since the beginning. This time, the day of Desiree and Rick's wedding has arrived and they plan to be gone a while for their honeymoon. Initially thinking that their mother, Lizza, isn't going to show up, she eventually walks in with a much-younger man as her plus one and he just happens to be Violet's one true love - Andre. After meeting and falling in love in Ghana, Violet left abruptly thinking she could never fit into Andre's life as a physician in Boston, but she quickly learns that not only was she wrong, Andre has made major changes in his life that has her wondering if just maybe it could work. Violet is such an amazing character! With her dark hair, head-to-toe tats, foul mouth, and her motorcycle she seems so tough and almost harsh at times. She tells it like it is, showing little emotion, even when in the company of those she feels closest to. Yet, beneath that tough exterior lies a woman with an enormous heart that volunteers with sick children and would truly do anything for anyone. I have to admit that I struggled with Andre at first, simply because of how he appeared in the story. However, once all was clarified regarding how he ended up there and how he truly felt about Violet, I became putty in his hands. A lot of this story revolves about Violet's severe need for privacy and how she keeps so much of her life to herself. Part of it deals with her not wanting thanks or a pat on the back for good deeds done, but another part was in regards to her separate groups of friends. Being someone that has always been friends with a huge variety of people, I wasn't clear on why it was such an issue to keep things separate. However, it was obvious that she felt tremendous relief and contentment once everyone knew about everything else. Bayside Escapes is full of passion, love, giving without expectations, and the true meaning of friends and family. This was an incredible second-chance romance and as always, Melissa Foster has blown me away with one of her books. I highly recommend this one!

I love romance books and Melissa Foster is one of my absolute favorite writers. I have been following the Bayside characters for a while now and love each and every one of them. I couldn’t wait until Violet’s story came out and now that it is I loved reading it and seeing her get tamed, well as tame as she can be. Violet and Andre story was amazing and so sweet yet not too sweet because if you’ve met Vi in the other stories you know she’s not into that mushy love stuff. Vi is a hard one to crack but giving the life she had and the thoughts she grew up thinking it’s no wonder it took a special, over loving, persistent guy to break her and get her to show the soft sweet girl inside. Andre is one who follows his heart and speaks with his heart which is not something Vi is used too which terrifies her and she runs but not before actually showing him her soft sweet loving inside and leaving a piece of her heart behind. He spent years finding her again and he is not about to let her run again. I just love the story and can’t wait to read more of the next ones. I definitely recommend you check this book out! You will be glad you did.

Steamy, raw, and exhilarating! Melissa Foster has such a way of making us feel like we're best friends with all of her characters too! We've always known that Violet had a history she wasn't spilling, and it's just come to life before our eyes when Andre shows up on the Cape! Their connection is powerful and the side of Vi that comes out when she's with him is sweet. The conflict of their story was basically over by halfway through the book, but they were such a cool couple together that I didn't mind it just being the two of them enjoying each other, and of course she had a whole other side of her life that she had to introduce him to. Really love this couple and this series in general! Looking forward to more to come! Two years ago, wild-child Violet Vancroft ended the nomadic lifestyle her mother had taught her when she settled into life at the Cape with her sister Desiree. Life and distance had them more estranged than ever, but even grizzly Vi has to admit that she has loved getting to know the grown up Des and all of her wild and crazy friends. Life's been good ... or at least as good as it can ever be when a piece of you is missing. Dr. Andre Shaw can't believe it's her! He attends a wedding, and finds the missing love of his life. He searched for her after she disappeared in the night two years ago, and just when he's decides to get on with his life, she's stirring him up again. Does she know how much she hurt him? Did she ever care about him at all? Andre is determined to get answers ... whether Violet wants to poor her heart out or not!

Melissa Foster has always been one of my go-to authors for when I'm feeling down, homesick, or overwhelmed with life in general. And Melissa Foster has managed to do it again, as yet another snow storm is heading our way and seriously! Can it not be spring yet! But do I really need spring, when it can be summer in Bayside and I can be lost in her latest release! So who's life are we delving into this time in Bayside, well it can only be wild child Violets turn, and to be truthful I have been dying for this book since Desiree's book and its finally here and I'm literally jumping for joy! So let us start from the very beginning of this book and its finally Desiree and Rick's wedding and it is too sweet for words, with Violet being the Maid of Honor and taskmaster to keep everyone on track, Violet Vancroft is filled with dread, that either their mother Lizza will either do a no show, or will show up and do something, but like a bad penny, Lizza appears, but bringing someone from Violet's secret past that devastates her. When Andre excepts Lizza's invitation for a break before he goes on another overseas assignment setting up clinics in poor parts of the globe, the last person he ever expected to see was the women who store his heart and left in the middle of the night, but there Violet was! The women he had searched everywhere for, but remained elusive! Now I'm going to stop my rehash of the story right there, cause I would just give all of the plot away, but I do what to talk about the 2 central characters in this book, and one of them is not going to be as obvious and you would guess. Let's start with Violet and we could honestly give many labels to her personality: hippy, wild child, rebel, citizen if the globe, but here are some that are not so obvious, insecure, secretive, lonely, heartbroken, feelings of being unwanted! And those last few completely broke my heart. And then there is Lizza and I will admit I struggle with Lizza's character, I see that after many years she is trying to right the wrongs, but I cannot get past the absolute devastation she has caused to two young girls, who grew up feeling unwanted and the pain that goes with that, and that truly breaks my heart. But this book is not a sad book, but one that is filled with love and deliciousness, that captivates your heart and is truly worthy of a least a month-long book hangover!

I really liked this book! I started and finished it in 2 days :). I do wish that I had read the series in order because there is a huge list of characters in this book (very similar to most Jill Shalvis books), but MF made it easy and has a character list on her website to help with any confusion. Andre and Violet are such complex characters. I liked the fact that the book wasn’t simply two people who meet, fall in love and overcome some obstacle. These characters have a lot of doubt and insecurities - just like us. I loved Violet's sass, but also her vulnerabilities. Andre was the perfect hero - kind, patient and loving - and Violet soon realizes that she is worthy of his love and the love of everyone around her. Great first read by Melissa Foster! **ARC provided by the author and TastyBookPR. All opinions are my own**

Violet is frustrated with her mother Lizza. What else is new with that mother of theirs?! Promising to show up for her sister's wedding and about to disappoint her on her own wedding day! Andre is a doctor who travels to developing countries to set up medical centres and has been invited by Lizza to be her guest to her daughter's wedding and stay at their inn for a month. At what should be a happy time, celebrating her sister's wedding, Violet is fuming! Once the festivities have died down, Violet takes off on one of her mysterious rides. It takes a lot to break down walls that one puts up and Andre is on a mission to reunite with his lost Tulip. Foster doesn't even need the whole first chapter to reel you in this love story. The drama and intense emotion of this hardened beauty will have you hooked.  Disclosure: At my request, I have received an advance copy of this book for review purposes. I am not being financially compensated for this post, all opinions expressed are my own honest opinion.

Great vacation read! Melissa Foster has done it again! If you have never read one of her books you should try one. Her stories have relatable characters that draw you in to the story and they don’t let you go until they are finished. Andre and Violet met while volunteering overseas. Andre was from a prominent Boston family with deep seated roots. Violet was raised by a hippy mother and never stayed in one place long. Violet receives news from her mother that her half sister needed her. Violet is a badass biker and Andre is a preppy good ole boy. They fall in love and then she sneaks out on Andre and goes back to the states to help her family. They run in to each other two years later and it is like no time has passed. They work through their past so that they can step into their future together.

Bayside Escape by Melissa Foster Dr. Andre Shaw had no idea that taking a break to decompress and going to a wedding with a woman he knew and worked with would provide him with the opportunity to find out why Violet Vancroft left him without an explanation two years before. They got off to a bit of a rough start their second time around but once the air was cleared and they realized they were still in love with one another there was an easy romance to read and enjoy. The two are perfect together and provided me with a great evening of entertainment. I am curious to find out who Justin will end up with as well as wondering about a few other people mentioned in this book. Did I enjoy the story? Definitely! Will I read more books by this author? Without a doubt Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

I really struggled with this one, didn't like her much. A strong woman who is mush with the man she loves. This is their second chance after she deserted him. A romance with plenty of feels and raw moments between characters.

Violet is a rough tough female who has had a gypsy like existance due to the fact that her Mom was always on the move. Violet was afraid of commitment so when she actually fell for a guy she ran--. Her Mom pulled a fast one which got both Violet and her sister together--but Violet still had a life none of her friends knew about. Then the man of Violets dreams showed up with her Mom for her sister's wedding with the guy she had run from all those years ago--Fiasco-as you can well imagine! Then her Mom took off leaving the guy behind---Would these two ever learn to trust each other again? Could Violet learn to trust her new friends and let them in on all she did that they had no knowledge of? This novel is fast and furious with a lot of soul searching and a bit of comedy--much like life itself.

Violet, never one for putting down roots, floats through life going from place to place. It is during one of her volunteer stints, that Violet meets Andre. If she were to ever settle down, it would be with a man like Andre. The fact that she “feels” so much for Andre, after only knowing him for a few months, scares her to death. When her mom, Lizza, tricks her into coming back home, Violet runs! Andre was forever changed when Violet wondered into his life. Working as a volunteer doctor in a third world country Andre came to realize that all the comforts and technology that he thought was important, really wasn’t. Andre loves Violet’s heart, strength, and kindness. Andre “sees” the real Violet and loves her. But a marriage proposal after knowing her a few months, sends his soul mate running. Fast forward.....Lizza arrives to Desi’s wedding with her “plus one”-Andre. Violet can’t believe the only man she’s ever loved, could be with her mother. Or is this just another ploy by a mother that Desi and Violet don’t trust? This is the first novel I’ve read in this series. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, I would’ve liked to have read them in order. I felt as though I was missing a little of the back story. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I loved how bad a**, but soft and kind-hearted Violet was. I loved the scene where Violet met Andre’s parents. Hilarious . I loved how encouraging Andre was of Violet’s art. Their shared love of sculpting took me back to the movie Ghost. Violet’s journey of learning to fully open up and trust others enough to include them in her life was soo relatable. The fact that Andre didn’t try to change Vi, but encouraged her to be herself....swoon-worthy! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

4.5 stars I've been looking forward to Violet's book for a while, which is interesting because Violet kind of annoyed me in the previous books. I'm usually interested in seeing books written from the perspective of characters that annoy me. I always hope that there's some underlining reason for their behavior and that they acknowledge their actions in the previous books. Well, I certainly became a fan of Violet. She has a vulnerable side to her, which was great to see. She went through a rough childhood, which she still has a lot of issues from in the present day. (And I really wanted to smack her mother, lol) And despite how snarky she is with her sister, she deeply values their relationship and wants to stay close with her. I also loved her relationship with Andre. I loved how all in he was and how he just took Violet as she was and didn't try to change her. And I like that despite their differences, they were able to find a happy median. Despite this being the fourth book in the Bayside Summers series, this book can definitely be read as a standalone. I say that mainly because there is a link to a character list provided in the book, which helps keep track of all of the supporting characters. However, Melissa Foster does such a good job of identifying the characters in the book that I only needed to check the list twice while reading. All in all, a great book.

Wow. Such an emotional story. I think this story hit every emotion in the spectrum. And most of it was Vi's emotions. I enjoyed watching her work through her emotions and feelings. I felt Andre understood Vi better than anyone and he figured out how to get her to open up to others. Watching her go through her emotional growth and change was a great experience that I've never had in a book before. I can't wait for Justin's story. I think he's another one with a story to tell that will take us on a roller coaster ride. Kudos Ms. Foster. Job well done.

This book is FANTASTIC!!! Violet has always been a bit of a mystery and I love the way Foster peels back the layers of Violet's armor to reveal the beautiful person she is within. Andre was burned badly by Violet's fleeing and ironically comes to Bayside to escape his memories only to find her in the place he least expected. I love how Andre and Violet take a journey together to realize how they have both changed and how they can have the best of both worlds. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
