Overview

Ghost [gohst] noun: the soul of a dead person, a disembodied, vague, shadowy spirit wandering among or haunting living persons; a mere shadow or semblance; a trace.

That noun sums up Ghost and what his life has become with painful precision. He is barely living, merely existing but never thriving. There wasn't much that could pull him from the darkness he willingly inhabits...except one thing. Her.
She is the reason he's done what he's done, and his life has become what it has become.

He haunts his former life, lurking in the background, surviving on occasional glimpses of the only thing good that is left in his miserable life. The horror he has inflicted upon her is nothing compared to the terror that waits for her when someone moves in to take her from him.

The thing about being stuck in the past is that it is like walking through life backwards. She is always looking back, so she doesn't see what is happening in front of her. Unfortunately for her, it turns out that the ghosts of the past aren't nearly as terrifying as the monsters of the future.

They say that true love is like a ghost, something that many talk about but few have seen. It's a good thing for that, too, because he'll need that element of surprise to protect her. Hopefully when the dust settles, he'll be able to resurrect more than just himself.

This is about 197 nook pages, full of action, suspense, a bit of heart felt moments, and love the MC family!! It was nice to see Ghost get his story, he was such a mystery in a few of the previous stories.****

*First Person *Dual Points of View Lani Lynn Vale has stuck again! Another twisty, curvy, and emotional read. She continues to amaze me with how she weaves her many characters throughout her many books.

This story was teased about in the other Dixie Wardens Rejects books. OMG - well worth the wait and all the speculation. Such a great love story about the lengths a "real" man goes through to keep his wife and child safe. Lani Lynn Vale, this is one of your best books yet. Now on to Fender, who also appears to be a Hail. Hmmmm. Plus Lynn/Joker. Can't wait to see what's next.

Always hated that Tunnel's story never got told. I screamed like a girl (oh wait I am a girl) when I realized it was Tunnel and mina's story. I love how Lani Lynn Vale ties all her stories together. Awesome!

Ghost I can honestly say that Lani has blew the top with this book she has wrote, best to date for me in this phenomenal series. All the questions that has run through your head as to who might Ghost be will be answered and its was heartbreaking to read and also come up with a review too. What you though you knew is thrown out the window and what you're left with is a story of forgiveness and love that will touch you to the core. A man willing to sacrifice everything he loves to keep his family safe regardless of the consequences will leaving you holding your breath to figure out what will happen next. Lani is a master story teller who weaves tales that leave you gasping for each breath you take while reading her books and this one will be no EXCEPTION!!! I loved it and the heroine is what every women would feel excellent book recommend for ALL readers.

I'm not even sure where to start with this book. I don't want to give away who the book is about, because the secrecy is part of what makes the book so amazing, but I'm going to try. I've truly loved each and every one of Lani Lynn Vale's books. The ongoing story line and intersecting lives of all of the characters have created a world that makes it impossible not to get emotionally involved with each of them. That being said, the anticipation of waiting for this book about killed me! Going in, I knew this was Ghost's book, and that he was a character from a previous book that had "died". While there was much speculation about who he was, it was a very tightly held secret. From his appearances in the othe Rejects books, we knew he was a very tragic character, but very little was said about his back story. I was crying within the first thirty pages! The hurt, and tragedy of these two people could be felt so clearly that it was impossible not to hurt for them. And the pure joy that they felt at being together was tangible. The beauty of their relationship stood out above everything else in the book. Don't get me wrong, like all of Lani Lynn Vale's books, there was plenty of action, suspense, and bad guys, but the love story stood out the most for me, along with the pure rightness of them being together. Just amazing!

This could have been do good. A good story. But the writing style is confusing. Too many people. The sentence structure, the timeline jumping...the points of view...the word choices just cause confusion. You can't quite get into it. You never connect with the characters.
