About the Author

Connie Bergstein Dow grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She began dancing when she was four years old, and has been dancing ever since. After attending Denison University, and earning her MFA from the University of Michigan, she danced professionally in the US, Venezuela, and Guatemala. During her career as a dance educator, she has taught dance to three-year-olds, to senior adults in wheelchairs, and every age in between. In addition to her picture book From A to Z with Energy! (Free Spirit Publishing, 2019), and Tap and Rap, Move and Groove (Free Spirit Publishing, 2023), she has written two books for teachers, both published by Redleaf Press: Dance, Turn, Hop, Learn!, and One, Two, What Can I Do? Dance and Music for the Whole Day. She also writes articles for magazines and journals, and verses for Highlights and Cricket magazines. Connie enjoys presenting movement workshops at early childhood conferences, and connecting with young readers at book festivals and libraries.

Graduating with High Honors and as Valedictorian of her high school class, K. M. Brown wasted no time in getting herself out into the art world and establishing herself as an artist with a passion. Within the year, she was illustrating children's books for local authors and eventually found her way to Roan & Weatherford Publishing and their Young Dragons imprint, where she serves as one of the imprint's senior illustrators. Often spending her free time writing and reading poetry, Katie's lifelong ambition is to become an established writer herself, standing in as both the author and illustrator of the many stories she has to tell. Beastie Jamboree is the third book she has illustrated, following 2022's Toolshed Surprise and 2021's Rey and the Magic Amulet.
