Reviewed by Elizabeth Butts for Readers' Favorite Beautifully Undone (The Beaumont Brothers Book 3) by Susan Griscom is a stand-alone book that is a part of a series. It does not end with a cliffhanger and can be read separately. This book follows Asher Beaumont, a damaged character who has just been dealt the blow of his mother's death. Outside of his mom, the only other 'family' he has is his best friend, Melody, and her brother, Teddy. Asher's dad was never really in the picture. Melody wants to be seen as a LOT more than best friend/little sister and, through some fun (and sexy) circumstances, starts turning Asher's head. One of the challenges Asher's mom put in his path before she passed was to find his half brothers. However, Asher grew up hating them, jealous of the relationship with their father that he believed they had. He is pushed to find them, hopeful that they will welcome him into their family with open arms, and not be one more rejection attached to the name of Beaumont. Beautifully Undone is beautifully gritty. Asher is a wonderfully written character. He is damaged, broken, hurt, angry, loving ... everything you want your next book boyfriend to be. Melody is sunshine, warmth and open arms. She understands all his hurt and wants to do all sorts of things to help heal those wounds. I fell in love with these two as a couple. They were real in their imperfections. Susan Griscom painted a portrait of them that was easy for me to visualize and put myself in the scenes of the book. I highly recommend Susan Griscom's Beautifully Undone for anyone who enjoys a sweet romance with some grit.

Beautifully Undone by Susan Griscom is part of the Beaumont Brothers series, however, it reads like a standalone. The characters from the prior books have roles in Beautifully Undone, but you don’t have to read the prior books in order to enjoy the story. At a signing event, Ms. Griscom warned me that Beautifully Undone was more racy than her usual book, however, the “racy” parts are some of the most tastefully written sex scenes I’ve read. Beautifully Undone is one of the sweetest, most tender, friends-to-lovers romance I’ve ever read. Griscom’s main characters, Asher and Melody, are very likable, and they’re fabulous together. I rooted for their relationship to grow into something more than friendship. I loved that this NA romance wasn’t about instant love. The two face several life changing situations together, and the support they give one another is touching. Melody and Asher have been friends and neighbors since childhood. They’re like family. When Asher has to deal with his mom’s death, Melody is 100% by his side. When Melody announces that she’s going to give her virginity to a guy, Asher has a totally best-friend-who-is-a-guy reaction. Melody’s big brother, Teddy, is like a “big bro” to Asher too. Teddy lives out-of-state, and gives Asher the thumbs-up with Ashley by asking him to look out for his sister. In hindsight, Asher figures out what everyone else has seen-- that he and Melody make a great couple. The story is very emotional. It is a story about a guy and girl who grew up together. Their mothers supported them through divorces and other losses. They had a solid foundation of friendship, but haunting that friendship was Melody’s crush on Asher. That crush leads Melody to take advantage of a magnanemous offer from Asher. Both talented musicians, Melody and Asher make music and make love together. Their relationship might get a little angsty, but a road trip and a quest to find Asher’s half-brothers ends with a very satisfying HEA. I adored the local details that could only be incorporated by a local author. Griscom has peppered her story with well-known local hangouts in San Francisco as well as long-standing local events such as the Bridge School Benefit Concert. Beautifully Undone has inspired me to read more of Susan Griscom’s Beaumont Brothers series.

Hot steamy yet sweet romance. Griscom skilfully explores the coming of age of two friends. Many childhood romances go very smoothly and the protagonists as grownups just fall into becoming a loving couple and remain happily married. However, that may not happen. In Beautifully Undone Griscom explores this possibility in an endearingly compelling romance. She very skilfully takes the reader through the heart pangs of two young adults Asher & Melody who have known each other since childhood. It is an emotional roller coaster ride of their coming of age story. Not only does the book open on a poignant note but every page tugs at one’s heart strings as the reader journeys through Asher & Mel’s experiences Griscom explores the trials and the self-doubts faced daily by these two young adult particularly when one is all alone in this world. Then there is the additional curve ball thrown by Griscom i.e. the unknown stepbrothers. How is that going to pan out? Umm you need to get one clicking to find out or it will be a spoiler. Can life’s adversities become life’s triumphs? In this divinely romantic tale, Griscom sets out to demonstrate how affliction shapes ones destiny & ones decisions. . Will they, won’t they; should they, should they not? Griscom skilfully draws the reader into their internal struggles and one cannot help but root for them hoping they will find their HEA. Told in the POV of both protagonists Asher & Melody, Griscom once again has spun a captivating romance that is a compelling yet plausible page-turner.

A Sexy, sweet story of love that has its beginnings in childhood and finally culminates as two adults with years of history, learning about each other all over again. I fully enjoyed this story. The characters are well done and the plot has a few twists and turns that make it not quite as predictable as it could be. Asher and Melody endeared themselves to me from the start. There are misunderstandings on both sides. Sometimes I just wanted to slap them both but I kept reading and finally they saw the light (so to speak) The world they live in, including the half-brothers they head off to find, are well known to those who have read the first 2 Beaumont Brothers books but even though I have not, I had no trouble keeping up. It is well done and truly a stand-alone novel. I can recommend it, highly. Our Blog was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
