About the Author

Britney King writes domestic suspense novels and psychological thrillers set in suburbia. She is currently writing three series and several standalone novels. The Bedrock series (psychological/domestic/romantic thriller) features an unlikely heroine who should have known better. Turns out, she didn't. Thus she finds herself tangled in a messy, dangerous, forbidden love story and face-to- face with a madman hell-bent on revenge. The series has been compared to Fatal Attraction, Single White Female, and Basic Instinct.

The Water Trilogy (psychological/domestic/romantic thriller) follows the shady love story of unconventional married couple- he's an assassin-she kills for fun. It has been compared to a crazier version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

The With You series (romantic suspense) is a coming of age, friends to lovers, second chance (plus a few) love story about unlikely friends who travel the world; trying to find themselves, together and apart. It has been compared to Love, Rosie.

Around The Bend, is a heart-pounding standalone (romantic suspense/domestic/psychological thriller), which traces the journey of a well-to-do suburban housewife, and her life as it unravels, thanks to the secrets she keeps. If she were the only one with things she wanted to keep hidden, then maybe it wouldn't have turned out so bad. But she wasn't.

Britney lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, children, two dogs, and one ridiculous cat.

She enjoys hearing from readers and would love it if you would connect with her at or the plethora of social media accounts she posses.

At first I wasn't certain I would like this book. It isn't one of my favorite genres and I was concerned that it would be one of those sappy love stories that abound in literature. I was wrong. This is a first class thriller and it kept me reading and wanting more. The protagonist, Addison Greyer, is a young, attractive woman who wants to love but cannot seem to find who she needs to return it - until the choice becomes a challenge between wanting to maintain her family or staying with the mysterious William Hartman, a wealthy man who owns the building she works in. If that weren't challenging enough for Addison, her boss talks her into becoming a dominatrix for her "second career," a house of bondage that caters to wealthy men. Addison fights with her own conscience throughout the story. Should she remain in her marriage for the sake of her sons or follow her heart with William? To complicate things even more, there are snippets of a sub-story where Addison is imprisoned by a man for reasons that are only revealed toward the end of the book. I liked this book. I often thought as I read that I wished I had met someone like Addison Greyer when I was young. She loved deeply and sincerely and made me want to learn more about her. I will definitely read more from this author.

The reviews of this book intrigued me and it was a freebie, so I nabbed it. It is indeed an interesting story with lots of twists and turns. The characters are well-developed. The storyline "out there", but it does deliver! Addison Greyer is a bright, intelligent woman who went through some pretty horrible experiences in this book. Along the way, the reader is dragged into an unlikely romance. I liked this book enough that I bought the two remaining in this series!

This is book 1 in the Bedrock series. I really enjoyed this story and meeting these characters. From beginning to end the author had me surprised at what came next. With all the twists and turns throughout the story it kept me on the edge of my seat. It was interesting, intense to say the least. Great story, can’t wait to read book 2.
