Summer had returned. The nightlife lit up the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama with scantily clad sun-kissed bodies, live music, the smell of fresh cooked seafood.
Taking it all in, he wondered if coming back had been the best thing. He wasn’t the same man who had driven out of town a year ago on the motorcycle he’d bought after his best friend’s wedding. From the messy blonde curls he’d let grow out, to the tattoos now covering his arms, part of his chest and even the side of his neck, it all represented a part of his journey.
Eli Hardy was back, but he didn’t plan on staying for long.

About the Author

Abbi Glines is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach, Sea Breeze, Vincent Boys, Existence, and The Field Party Series . She never cooks unless baking during the Christmas holiday counts. She believes in ghosts and has a habit of asking people if their house is haunted before she goes in it. She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she was born in Alabama. When asked how many books she has written she has to stop and count on her fingers. When she’s not locked away writing, she is reading, shopping (major shoe and purse addiction), sneaking off to the movies alone, and listening to the drama in her teenagers lives while making mental notes on the good stuff to use later. Don’t judge.

Not one of my favorites. The story was too short, took too long to get to why Eli was moody. Then they loved each other when they hardly spent any time together. This is the third book with the kids of Sea Breeze and Rosemary Beach. And all the books have been a let down compared to the other Series.

I love the story, but it ended way too soon. I need more Eli.

I read the Rosemary Beach series and it was awesome. Not sure about this one the story takes forever and then is wrapped up in the last chapter with no real closing. Hope the next one is better.

I haven’t read an Abbi Glines’ romance in quite some time, so I enjoyed returning to Sea Breeze, Alabama, catching up with old friends and meeting the second generation of characters in the Sea Breeze and Rosemary Beach series. The Eli Hardy who left Sea Breeze after his best friend’s wedding is not the same one who returns when his family needs him; the once good-natured guy…the dependable, do-gooder with perpetual hope and niceties is no longer, and in his place is a man who holds pain and sorrow behind his eyes, never allowing anyone to truly seen beneath the tattoos on his body and the shadows that he seems to rely on to hide himself from those who knew him before left to live life and ended up living with regret, loss, and an emptiness that he would wish upon no one. Ophelia Finley may have only briefly ‘known’ the Eli Hardy from a year ago, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting to understand this new version of him and spend time with the man who makes her feel more than she’s felt for any guy in a long time, which both excites and scares her because she knows he’s not a safe bet and he has the ability to tear down her highest walls, destroying her heart in the process. Eli and Ophelia’s journey to something more is a fast paced one, and while it’s clear that there are feelings of lust, pulling them towards one another, Eli’s demons keep him closed off from anything truly developing between them. I will say that I struggled to understand why Eli felt so damaged and scarred because the baggage of his past was hinted at many times before it was actually revealed and then once it was exposed, the reality of everything that happened to him was was only briefly explored and it didn’t feel like it offered up the necessary insight to all that he went through and why the peace Ophelia gave him was difficult for him to wrap his mind and his heart around without feeling like he didn’t have enough to give back to her. Best I’ve Ever Had is a quick read that packs a lot of characters and conflicts into a small number of pages, and while I was able to comprehend the ins and outs of who was whom and what happened to the main characters, I wanted the characterization of the hero and heroine as well as the plot line to be presented with more in-depth details so that I could see a clear picture of everything and fully grasp just how significant it was for Eli and Ophelia to find their way to each other and love one another as freely as they could for as long as they could. 3.5/4 Poison Apples

“Scale from one to ten?” she asked me. That one was easy. I finally gave into the smile that tugged at my lips. “Best I ever had” OH. MY. GOD! I seriously LOVED this book so hard! It was worth every minute of the wait! Every time I think I have a Seabreeze/Rosemary Beach crossover book favorite Abbi makes sure she proves me wrong. Best I've Ever Had is hands down my favorite in the series so far! I've been ready for Eli's story since the series started, and Eli did not disappoint! It was nothing like what I expected it to be, yet everything I wanted it to be at the same time! It felt good to be back in Seabreeze.could not get enough of these two characters! I could not devour the pages quick enough! I just needed MORE! And the FEELS! Don't even get me started on the FEELS! Because this book brought all of those as well! It was a emotional roller coaster ride I wanted to ride I over and over again! I never expected Eli to end up with Ophelia but man was they explosive! Their chemistry was off the charts, and smoking HOT! They was simply perfect together. Their love story definitely warmed my heart. If I had any complaints it would be why all the quick endings anymore!? A epilogue definitely goes a long way with books and its hard not to miss it when you don't get one. "Just watching her was like being given a small gift. Her beauty could make a man forget every dark corner of his life. That either made her dangerous or an angel. I wasn’t sure which." Ophelia is one of those heroines you can't help but love. She was so easy to relate too, and such a breath of fresh air to read about. She was sassy, quirky, and unique. Her character was the perfect mix of both Rush and Blair. I loved Ophelias innocence. She was completely unaware of her beauty and charm. While easily wrapping you around her finger! She was a surprise love interest for me, but I couldnt have pictured a more fitting heroine. She took me back to the reason I loved Rosemary Beach and I can't help but admire her character for that. "Even if this woman found a way to destroy an already broken man, I would never regret it. Some moments were worth losing your soul over." Eli has officially earned a place in my favorite Abbi Glines based hero's! Seriously I call dibs! I loved his character when he was the good guy. But I especially LOVED his character as the bad boy! Eli was the perfect mix of haunted, broding, and HOT. He commanded your attention, while melting your heart. Every time he spoke I either found myself fanning, or swooning. Even the strongest hero's have their vulnerable moments. My heart ached for Eli so many times over this book. He is one of those characters you can't help but root for. "No woman will ever make you happy until you can appreciate her. Living life and making wrong choices makes it easier to know when you find what’s right.” *5 STARS* Well earned for another fantastic installment in the Seabreeze Meets Rosemary Beach series! I can not wait to read the next couple's story that will be coming next! Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!

Best I’ve Ever Had by Abbi Glines was a sweet, sexy and heartbreakingly emotion romance that captivated my heart. When I heard that Eli Hardy was FINALLY getting his happily ever after I was beyond excited because he definitely deserves one, I just was not expecting Ophelia Finlay to be his one true love! Their journey to HEA took readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and I think my heart broke for him even more than it had in the previous two books in the Sea Breeze Meets Rosemary Beach series because of the tragedy he experienced in the year he was away. This was almost EVERYTHING I crave from a Abbi Glines romance, except for the fact that it felt too short, but that’s probably because I loved these two so much that I never wanted their story to end. Eli and Ophelia’s chemistry was undeniably raw and passionate. This story was filled with witty banter, perfectly humorous moments, and just the right amount of steamy scenes that left me satisfied. I cannot freaking wait to find out the next couple to get a book in this series and I totally look forward to seeing glimpses of these two in future books because I could never get enough of them!

Eli took me on an incredible journey. He’s the guy who hasn’t gotten the girl so he sets off to experience life but when he returns to Sea Breeze a year later, well, he’s a different man. The shadows that lurk in his eyes show a man that experienced life and ended up shattered. Being home to support his Gran is more important but he’s not really ready to face his family. Ophelia recognizes a kindred spirit in Eli and provides a few rescues for him with his family. These two strike up an unlikely friendship yet find intense chemistry that neither expected. The challenge for both is letting anyone truly in to know their deep and dark secrets that allows them to embrace love. I devoured their intense, thoughtful, sexy romance needing them both realize they are worthy and can be loved.

This book is an earth shattering earthquake. I read it in one sitting. It was amazing. Eli is a complex and beautiful character. Abbi did it again. A book that captured until the very end. Eli's love story is compelling and exquisite. It's not a perfect love story but who's love story is perfect. Please read it!
