The accurate synopsis spells this story line out pretty clearly here, my fellow medical romance book loving friends. If it intrigues you, my diagnosis for you is to pull up a chair, put your feet up, and dive right in this stand-alone but part of a series, friends to lovers romantic tale. Better brace yourself though for this afraid to love/commit, handsome, hunk of a doctor’s womanizing past reputation. He’s known as the king of one night stands, which we are often reminded. We are given an explanation why he has closed off his jaded heart. At least, we aren’t given graphic details or run-ins with the long list of nameless OW he’s spent fleeting, passionate moments with. It is bothersome enough to know Natalie is well aware of his former misbehaving during his boys night out barroom ventures. Natalie, the heroine, was a compassionate, resilient, hardworking pediatric cancer doc heroine, who deserved to find true love. My heart ached for what she has endured. She works so hard she has had little time to breathe. She’s always just accepted Jonah the way he is, without judgement or stipulations. She’s been a friend of his since college and now at the same hospital (but more of a classmate/coffee and lunch buddy). Not surprisingly, Jonah finds myself turning away from easy conquest temptations to wanting and needing more of Natalie, his new temporary roommate, in his life. It’ll be up to you to decide if you can forgive/forget Jonah’s past and his stubborn reluctance to believe in a forever kind of love. Also, if you can embrace Natalie’s decision to temporarily put on hold her recent search for a lifetime marriage partner so she can pursue the undeniable attraction/chemistry she suddenly feels with Jonah. They come to a short term agreement that morphs into an all consuming love that will not be denied. All in all, the writing flowed, and I especially enjoyed the sweet, grand gesture near the end. It seems like forever since I’ve read a medical romance where the main couple are both doctors. It’s one of my favorite romance genres, folks, so I'm inclined to be rather forgiving/lenient. However, I did lower my rating by one star for Jonah's past womanizing mindset/behavior. Title: Better Than Me, Series: Remington Medical (Book 2), Author: Kimberly Kincaid, Pages: 331, stand-alone but part of a medical romance series, very steamy scenes, doctor main couple, best friends to lovers, afraid to love/former manho compassionate, hardworking, resilient heroine, knucklehead thinking, relationship angst. Book 1 - Back to You (Charleston & Parker), 2/12/19, Pages: 321 Book 2 - Better Than Me (Jonah & Natalie), 5/7/19, Pages: 331 Book 3 - Between Me and You (Harlow & Connor), releases Aug. 2019 (I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Review: BETTER THAN ME by Kimberly Kincaid Publication Date: May 7, 2019 Genre: Contemporary Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated 5 Stars I love Kimberly Kincaid’s books, but this has to be my favorite. Natalie and Jonah were easy to like, their interaction was effortless and nicely written. One of my favorite parts of this series, is the camaraderie amongst their friends and colleagues. It’s realistic and fun, pulling me into their world so that I want to stay. I have come to care about them all and how they deal with each other. Sometimes a friends-to-lovers story falls flat for me. NOT this one. Natalie and Jonah moved smoothly from friends to smoking hot lovers. It is one of the most romantic sexually charged books I’ve read in a long time. Now I believe I need a little Remington Medical after-glow time. I cannot wait for the next one, the teaser has me quite anxious. *Review copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. ~*~*~*~

Well hello, Jonah. Be my friend. Natalie and Jonah were friends, in the medical field, knew all about chemistry, in very close proximity to each other, and knew a lot about the other. I entered this series with book two and I want to go back to book one. I love friends-to-lovers. I love when they have a history. I loved when there is so much more to them getting together. I found a cast of character that I would like to know more about. I found them to be fun, rich, and felt like family.

Don't we all need a little Jonah in our life?? He's sexy as all get out, he's totally fun to hang around with and it turns out he's got a heart of gold! With the second book in her steaming hot Remington Medical series, Kimberly Kincaid brings us a super sexy, fun-loving read that manages to tear our heart out on occasion before slowly stitching it back together again. Chock full of emotion and drama that will have you turning the pages as quickly as you can to unravel what's going to happen. I didn't think I could love a book more than the first in the series ... but YES, I sure did! Can't wait for Connor's story! It's well known that Jonah Sheridan is a player. He loves the ladies, but he's not going to be settling down with one ... like ever. He's a top notch surgeon at Remington Medical and the best friend a gal could have ... and he manages to prove it when he begrudgingly lets Natalie move into his apartment for the next six weeks. That's right, six weeks with sexy temptation right under his nose! Surgeon Natalie Kendrick adores Jonah for helping her out, and she tries to kill the gossip floating around the hospital insinuating they are fooling around. Never! Well ... maybe? At least it feels like it's a possibility the way the air sizzles when he's near. Will she be able to show him just how much he deserves out of life or will he be the one doling out the lessons in life's pleasure?

Loved this friends to lovers romance between two best friends. When a cast iron tub from the second-floor ends falls through her ceiling into her living room Natalie, a pediatric surgeon needs a place to stay while her apartment gets cleaned up and fixed. She moves in with her best friend Jonah, a trauma surgeon. Sparks fly and can hide from their feelings for each other. Loved the witty banter and humor throughout the story. I loved these two together and I was cheering them on the whole way. This is a beautiful, well-written story with believable characters, a great HEA.

4.5 Stars This is the second book in the series and I can tell you the books just get better. I just love the way Kimberly Kincaid writes. I'm normally not a fan of medical romance, but if Kimberly Kincaid writes it you know I have to give it a go. I love friends to lovers romance so I knew I would enjoy this one. Plus the ending of the first book has had me eagerly awaiting this book. I loved Natalie in the first book and this book solidifies that. I love the way she is with her patients and that she just a kind person. Plus they way she brings out the best in Jonah is special. I wasn't prepared for the twist that came. It threw me, but it just backs up the great guy Jonah is even though he can't see it. I'm a big fan of the camaraderie of the hospital that's what the bring draw to this series is for me. The characters are so engaging that draw you right into their world. I'm digging the setup for future books. I can't wait for more!

Natalie and Jonah are amazing friends. She is the ray of sunshine, always full of hope while Jonah carries the darker viewpoint, not believing love is possible for him. When Natalie needs a place to stay while her apartment is repaired, Jonah steps up even though having someone live with him, even Natalie, makes him nervous. As these two spend more and more time together through work and living together, feelings and attraction grow. But Jonah is the one-night stand guy with Natalie looking for a long-term relationship. What will Jonah do when he realizes Natalie wants that one-night with him? Will he say yes? Will he be able to keep his heart hardened from her? Or will Natalie breakthrough and melt away all his walls? This is not an easy journey for them. They both have new challenges thrown at them that they must tackle which may be just what they need to find a true forever love.

This book is insanely good! Jonah Sheridan and Natalie Kendrick have been best friends for years. The playboy trauma surgeon and the sunny pediatric surgeon have a fantastic, platonic relationship. Then Nat desperately needs a place to stay and Jonah reluctantly agrees to become roommates and suddenly everything changes. I wish I could give this more than five stars!! Jonah is my favorite kind of book boyfriend: gorgeous, sexy, cocky and when he finally falls, you know he will fall hard. Natalie blew me away, sweet and kind but oh so strong. I loved that they started out as best friends and turned into so much more! The attraction between these two is oh-so-hot but there were so many sweet, swoony moments too. Add in some funny banter, the Remington Memorial staff, plus some surprising twists and Better Than Me is one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Natalie's girls nights have me cracking up and wishing I had more of my own. Her love for children, especially her patients, had me tearing up at points. Jonah is the epitome of a dream doctor, and brought back my crush on Doug Ross from ER, lol. He's suffered heartache and doesn't want to put his heart on the line ever again. Better Than Me is like my ultimate dream episode of Grey's Anatomy! I love the chemistry between the main characters and their strong friendship with each other. I wasn't able to put this book down once I started and was even listening to it in the car (quietly in the drive-thru, lol). The development between the characters, and as individuals, happens at the perfect pace and I couldn't have asked for a better story!

I absolutely loved, loved, loved Better Than Me, book two in Kimberly Kincaid’s Remington Medical series. This amazing story features best friends who become lovers while they accidentally become temporary roommates is a magical, moving and emotional story that pulls out all the stops for Natalie and Jonah finding love together. Jonah and Natalie are both surgeons, she with the kids in pediatrics, he with the adults at the same Remington Hospital. Handsome and sexy Jonah was determined to stay single, believing that love was just not for him. Natalie although being best friends with Jonah, was the only female known to be immune to his panty-melting charm and good looks. After a freak accident occurred in her apartment, Natalie needed a place to stay and ended up sleeping on Jonah’s futon. As these two spend time together in the close quarters of Jonah’s apartment they begin to open up, sharing their deepest, darkest secrets. Secrets you would never expect from either of them. Helping as well as being there each other, pushes them to be each other’s cheerleader, encouraging the other that they can do or be what they need. They are stronger than they give themselves credit. One major problem occurs after a sizzling hot, no strings attached night of giving each other pure, sexual pleasure. However, what started as only one night, turned into more nights, then a friends with benefits arrangement, which as it continued, found Jonah and Natalie falling for one another. As Jonah and Natalie find themselves faced with unexpected and life threatening problems, their love and feelings are tested, forcing them to find their inner strength before those obstacles break their spirit. Making grand gestures and stepping out of their comfort zones will definitely define whether or not their love will endure. Ms. Kincaid provided an emotional tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, strong connections with family and friends as well as endearing characters; providing Jonah and Natalie a chance at everlasting love. Warning, you might need to keep tissues nearby while reading. I highly recommend Better Than Me to other readers and look forward to the next book, and couple, in this series.

We are back in Remington Medical with another wonderful story. This time, we get to spend our time with Jonah Sheridan and Natalie Kendrick. Both well respected physician’s at Remington Med and best friends. When Natalie’s apartment is damage by a bathtub, yes, a bathtub, she ends up staying with Jonah. A man that has been hurt deeply. One who’s loved ones seem to always leave him. As time goes on , they go from friends to those with benefits. As entertaining and engaging that the plot was, it’s the interactions between Natalie, and Jonah, as well as between their friends that makes this story. All complex individuals with a history that makes them come alive. The story is also a reminder that our experiences as children and how our parents behave , do in fact affect us as adults. For better or worse. It’s a sweet, and touching story . You will at times laugh, at others, tissues are required. In the end, will Natalie and Jonah find their HEA or will fears and love keep them apart? Another winner by this talented author . I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Better Than Me was a delight to read and Natalie and Jonah were true book heros that melted my heart. A trauma surgeon and a pediatric attending both working at Remington Memorial. Two friends who work tirelessly to save lives, which is already endearing, but when Natalie and Jonah eventually fall for each other in the loveliest way possible, I couldn't help but love each of them even more. Natalie's apartment is damaged when a bathtub comes crashing down from the second floor to the first floor, making her home uninhabitable until it is fixed. With no where else to turn, her best friend, Jonah (her commitment-phobe-doesn't-even-allow-one-night-stands-to-spend-the-night-friend) concedes to Natalie's desperate situation and she becomes his new roommate. Against his better judgement he offers up his futon to his best friend, knowing it's only short term. That is until he sees her lacy lingerie, not once in all the years he's known her did he think about her satin or lace, or what Natalie was wearing under her scrubs. Soon all Jonah can think about is what she's not wearing under her scrubs, how soft her skin might feel, and how she'd taste. He is in more trouble than he originally thought and six weeks until her apartment is finished won't come soon enough. He can't jeopardize his friendship with Natalie she knows him better than anyone and he can't lose that over thinking about her sexy panties. Natalie and Jonah are best friends and she really appreciates crashing on his futon for the next several weeks. Even better, she feels that they are growing closer since she's moved in. They are able to talk about cases on their down time, they drive into work together when they work the same shift, and Jonah actually comes with her when she volunteers at the clinic. He probably has better things to do, but she will take his help and enjoys the extra time with him. He has always been a great guy and their friendship is stronger than ever, which leads her to thinking about asking him to help her in another avenue that has been plaguing her for quite some time. Jonah might be perfect for helping her out of an awkward situation, but can they still be best friends when all is said and done? Kimberly Kincaid was a new author for me and the Remington Memorial world is filled with wonderful secondary characters I look forward to revisiting again.

Friends to lovers – check; sexy doctors – check; steamy chemistry – check; another awesome book by Kimberly Kincaid – check, check, and check! I absolutely adored both Natalie and Jonah and loved watching them fight and then finally give in to the chemistry between them. I loved the fact that they were best friends, for me it added a whole other dimension to their relationship, especially when they would call each other out on things. These two both have issues from their pasts that have shaped the who they have become, and I think without the background of their deep friendship, having them move their relationship forward just would not have been so believable. Underneath his “one night stand” persona Jonah is a deeply caring man, and I loved that he so wanted to take care of Natalie. And Natalie always knew just how far to push Jonah and the questions to ask him to get him to think about his past and his future, especially surrounding the relationship with his father. But in the end, the fact that these two always had each other’s backs made their relationship so special – even if it did take a bit for them to realize just how special together they were! I always love when characters from other books add to the story, and there was no shortage of support offered by the staff from Remington Medical. I really loved watching Natalie’s relationship grow with both Tess and Charlie, offering her support and advice and just being there when she needed some girl time. And watching them all rally together at the end to get Jonah and Natalie to their happily ever after was a perfect way to wrap up this story. Kimberly Kincaid has a wonderful writing style and she makes it easy to get lost in one of her books. Her characters are always a bit on the intense side when it comes to the emotions, but she always makes that work while keeping the angst to a manageable level. My only small complaint with this one was the twist at the end, it almost seemed to me to be the easy way out, and I would have loved to have seen something a little different and less predictable – but even with that, I think this is one of my favorite Kimberly Kincaid books that I have read. Another great read by Kimberly Kincaid that I would highly recommend!

Never have I been a fan of medical drama. However, every once in a while I'll take a risk and try one on for size. Kincaid, after all, is a temptation that is not to be missed. Better Than Me proved a pleasant surprise. Heart, humor and hormones battle it out to see which one will end up on top. Jonah and Natalie put their friendship on the line and discover that when it comes to happily ever after, some things are worth waiting for. Went in a skeptic and came out a winner.
