What a lovely but gritty woman who has 20 years of rehabbing behind her. It's so heart warming to see the value she places on her family. I'm a fan of her projects and her philosophy in the way she restores houses. I'm so happy she wrote this book to put HER VIEWS out there. Nicole rocks!

I loved the book and will read it again. I cried through most of it as I reflected on my own life. Thank you Nichole for sharing with us.

I enjoyed reading Nicole's book and getting a fuller picture of Nicole and her passion for old houses. It was interesting to read about the various projects and to learn about what was going on behind the camera, both good and bad. She's found herself on some rough paths, and I'm sorry she's had to learn so many lessons the hard way, but she's obviously grown with each challenge. I appreciate Nicole's honest, straightforward attitude toward life; it's something I wish I'd learned earlier in my own life. The impression I get from this book is that she's learning to rely on herself more and more and not on others who have their own agendas. When she thinks for herself, good things happen. I hope that we'll see another book from Nicole that talks about the techniques and tips she talks about in her shows and about how to avoid damaging important aspects of old houses.

She looks out over a barren wastland. A few meters away, an old run down lab-looking building sits with half its roof caved in and vines growing on it. "Ta-da!"
