This just goes over "what we do when we first get to our grandmother's for summer vacation", reviewing it as a child would - first we hear the bad joke, then we go in the car, then we make sure everything's the same..."Warm and loving, but not much story to it. If you want more story, get the companion book, "Shortcut".

The story of Donald Crews's summers at his grandmother's house with all of his siblings. Awesome pictures detail his summer and the activities he participated in.

A nice story about a man recalling memories of his family trip to his grandparent's house every summer. THis would be a great story to have students reflect on and write about their own memories of family and past family trips.
