Billy Barnstorm - The Birch Lake Bomber

Billy Barnstorm could be sub-titled "Troubles With Girls" as Joel Vance's hero negotiates his teenage years with usually hilarious, sometimes moving, encounters with various girl friends. Along the way he interacts with various characters in Birch Lake, the northwoods Wisconsin town by the lake for which it is named, including his nemesis Scuz Olson, the town drunk Charlie Pete, his high school coach, his knuckleballing, guitar playing friend Rusty... and even the President of the United States.
