Overview

Chloe MacArthur has finally found her mate but he's the one wolf she can't have.

To save her heart from further pain, she leaves the pack that she's come to consider her family. Unfortunately, unfinished business leads her back to her childhood home and straight into a deadly game with shifters that will do anything to prevent her from learning the truth.

Ian Lachlan is in mourning. Nearly two years ago, he lost his mate but, thanks to Chloe, he's finally living again. When he wanted to give up and die, she saved him.

Now, Chloe is the one who needs help and Lachlan plans to return the favor. Intent on protecting her from her enemies, he follows Chloe and soon discovers that he wants far more from her than friendship. He wants everything she has to give.

But can either of them let go of the past long enough to reach for their future?

*Though this book features characters from the Bitten series, it can be read as a standalone. If you enjoy Chloe and Lach's story, you can read more starting with Bite Me (Bitten, #1) which is currently free!

About the Author

Born and raised in Texas, C.C. Wood writes saucy paranormal and contemporary romances featuring strong, sassy women and the men that love them. If you ever meet C.C. in person, keep in mind that many of her characters are based on people she knows, so anything you say or do is likely to end up in a book one day.

A self-professed hermit, C.C. loves to stay home, where she reads, writes, cooks, and watches TV. She can usually be found drinking coffee or wine as she spends time with her hubby, daughter, and two beagles.

This is one action packed PNR, that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire story. This story was filled with action, mystery, unrequited romance and hot sexy times. Each chapter flowed from one person's POV to the next while in the same scene, which I thought was really nice because it brought both the Lachlan's and Chloe's perspectives into play at the same time. I just want to say that the chase scene was spot on CC Wood! I really liked that Chloe was a strong heroine and had a sassy side as well. She stood up to anybody that she felt she needed to. I haven't read the original series to this spin-off, but I didn't miss out because of it. This book can totally stand on it's own. Great start to a new series! **ARC provided for review.
