Overview

The night I'm released from prison, she's in my bed.
It's been eight years since I touched a woman, and the Native American beauty is half-dressed, beaten, bruised, and devastatingly exquisite.

We're toxic together, but we want the same things. Blood. Vengeance.
Violent relief in a warm body.

Beneath her touch, I'm alive.
Against her skin, I'm redeemed.
Buried inside her, I forget the past.
Until the past takes her from me.

Prison made me cold, but losing Raina makes me cruel. Ruthless. Unforgiving.
I killed before. For her, I'll kill again.
I'll end this once and for all or die in my boots.

TRAILS OF SIN series (HEAs with no cliffhangers - must be read in order):
Knotted #1 - Jake and Conor
Buckled #2 - Jarret and Maybe
Booted #3 - Lorne and Raina

There are three books in this series Knotted , Buckled and Booted. They are all amazing stories that should be made into a movie. I loved all the main characters and the story line was awesome. There is fear, intrigue, mystery, pain and love a whole lot of love. I'm the midst of dark experiences love grows and heals many broken people.

While this last book in the Trail of Sins series could be read as a single with it's explosive finish to all the lies and crimes, readers should really read the series in order, because all the secrets and evils that are revealed and resolved in this book. I am blown away by this deep story of survival, release, recovery and redemption. The resiliance and strength needed to overcome the vile imprisonment both lead characters survive fuels this story to the explosive climax of western justice while the succeeding glimpses of their HEA soothes the trauma that sent these people through the valley of death to find their paradise on earth. I am in awe of Pam Godwin for her skills with writing this emotionally moving and mind blowing series which stretches my thoughts on tolerable/acceptable actions when the reason is right.

I’ve read all three books in this series. I love the strong bond shared by Connor, Lorne, Jake and Jarret. My favorite book is the last (Lorne & Raina). It was great experiencing the bond and growth of the four childhood friends with each finding a love of their own. The strong unbreakable bond is what stays with me the most.

Back on Julep Farm, Lorne Cassidy is home from serving 8 years in prison. Unexpectedly he finds a beauty in his bed. Raina Bellany has no right to be in ex-con's bed without his consent. Raina doesn't have time to give excuses or spare attention to the handsome felon. She's on the hunt for revenge and justice after 2 brutal years with John Holsten. The past of Raina's is gutting and inexplicably grueling. Lorne's release was only a second of relief. The pressure from being back from a place where one closes their eyes with the promise of death every night isn't easy to get over. Raina was his perfect muse and medicine. Sigh. Starting off these two were lightning bolts, I was just waiting to see when they'd strike. While shaking on a deal, the two give into magnetic touch between them. As always, I loved Godwin's writing, it was splendid and kept me on edge with every detail! Raina and Lorne blended exquisitely and I'll for sure miss these two and Julep Farm, but I do hope there is a spin off series for the Julep's next generation :)

DANG .. I sure do LOVE ME some Cowboys! Lorne is the ultimate damaged yet tender "down and dirty" cowboy and he has totally rode his way into my heart. I can see how Raina needed someone like Lorne to thaw her self inflicted shell. This book is off the charts hot and emotionally intense and YOU NEED TO READ IT NOW! @ Side not this is part of a 3 book series featuring a different couple each book but they must be read in order. So if you haven't read Knotted or Buckled - HOP TO IT NOW!!!

I'm a self confessed city slicker, even in books the country setting isn't an Ideal genre, yet Pam has managed to flip me with her Trails Of Sin series. I'm totally amazed by her versatility, she writes dark romances, love triangles, cowboys and paranormal, all with same proficiency, thoroughness and expertise. Her pen doesn't miss a beat, moving across varied genres and tropes. And all is topped with her trademark sensuality and seductiveness. Heat and passion are always in foreground with a strong plotline base. She's a marvellous writer, always a joy to read Ever since book 1- Knotted, the Holston/Cassidy tribe has camped in my heart and refuse to leave. The brothers Jake & Jarret, Lorne & Conor Cassidy have become MY people, MY family, MY ranchers. The scars that mar their palms are itching on my heart too. Their travails trouble me, their pain hurts me, their calamities destroy me. "They’re a cancerous lesion on the flesh of the soul that can only be removed with gunpowder and sharp steel."  Pam has created a beautiful world on Julep Ranch where serenity and safety vanished on a dreaded night 8 years ago. They are all victims that are still struggling to collect their shattered pieces left behind & separated and stumbling on their weakened legs to bring some semblance of order in their lives. Lorne is on a self imposed exile of sorts. His demeanour is volatile, the constant need to look over his shoulder and watch his back has made him high strung and unpredictable. He's muted his words and introspected his thoughts to make sense of the outside world. His demons are relentless and deeply embedded. "PTSD is unavoidable. No one leaves prison without it. I received an education in human depravity and criminal behavior that can’t be learned in a school psychology course."  And what soothes this turbulent, impenetrable soul ? It's open outdoors, a soothing presence and a cup of tea. The agitation that is his life finds a respite in the silence of night. Raina too has taken asylum in the ranch, licking her bodily wounds, finding much needed safety net so she can recuperate and reassess the danger that seems to be following her like a shadow. Together these broken spirits go back to her ancestral roots trying to heal together through customs and beliefs My ancestors believed that all nature is alive with spirit. Animals, plants, rocks, water, humans— everything has a soul, and we’re all connected in one unified whole.  A soulful story penned by Pam, looking deep into childhood bonds of virginal love and brotherhood. The wronged innocent lives shattered by Avarice, greed, betrayal and treachery. I've to admire the tone she sets in this book. She doesn't need to tarnish this vulnerable love with words so she cleverly uses the eyes, touch, night silence and dancing under the stars as instruments of romance.  We embrace without arms, kiss without lips, and fall with the ground firmly beneath our feet. He smashed my heart against my ribs to make room for his. Now we beat side by side, stretching and growing together in the shared space.  Amazing. Brilliant. Fabulous words. What a beautiful line, it just hits you straight in the heart making the defining silence more potent, more pregnant with emotions than a pageful of dialogue. What mastery in writing, I was floored, just completely besotted with unsaid sentiments. I loved this unique take of Pam on her character development. “I hear you.” “Every unspoken thought. Every emotion you have

"I hear you" means I loved these characters! This is the story of two completely broken down people, who don't even realize they are, and they don't want to change. It oozes darkness from every pore, and yet, the cracks let in a light, that has you hoping our couple can find their way, can get the peace they so richly deserve. Lorne is recently released from 8 years in prison. Raina is recently released from 2 years with John Holsten. Both had good reasons for why they were where they were. Both didn't deserve to be where they were. Both don't want the attraction that is sparking, simmering, and boiling between them. Neither can resist pushing the others buttons. Neither can resist the pull together I was completely immersed in the world with Lorne and Raina, they had me hooked from the beginning, and I didn't want to see their story end!

I can't even right now. So good. SO good. SO DAMN GOOD! Pam blows me away with every book, she never lets me down. She is one of the few authors I know will satisfy every desire of my little heart - and I'm one bitch when it comes to slush reading for a publisher and beta reading for other authors. Bitch. Lorne has officially taken over the title of book boyfriend for me, something Rip has held since I first saw his name in Keri Lake's Ripple Effect. Sorry Keri! Lorne is all that - the green eyes, the black hair, the freckles, that damn DIMPLE! UGH. My heart is torn into ribbons over his story!!!! And that graphic she created for him?!?!? *thud* My GOD... I don't do spoilers, but I will say this: the revenge is handled with PERFECTION, and the HEA at the end is everything I could have hoped for for all three couples. The conflict, internal and external, (never mind the sexual tensions!) had me so damn uptight, I had a headache for over two hours after reading. So worth it. Their drive, their passion, their connection - their 'hearing' each other was beautiful poetry, summing up what every human longs for in a relationship. Talk about the feels... Best lines? She pleasures me with passion. I love her with fire. Together, we reduce the night to ashes. *double thud* A must read IMO. A MUST.

“She pleasures me with passion. I love her with fire. Together, we reduce the night to ashes” Wow Loren’s story is full of passion ,strong women and determination. All I can say is Lorne did not waste his time in prison,he did some imagining.. The story concludes this series and what a great ending. Suspense, twists and lust all the things you hope will come to Lorne I don’t want to say too much but Raina is fiesta, misunderstood and brave her story is heart breaking and meeting Lorne throws her further challenges. Her grit and determination but also her understanding are great features of a strong female character.try to turn the pages slowly but I don’t think you will 5 stars

Booted is the final book in the Trails Of Sin trilogy and what an ending it was. It was violent, dark, brutal, amazing and beautiful. Beautiful in the way it brought two broken souls with jagged edges together, that shouldn't fit yet somehow they do, not seamlessly mind you, there's too much pain and pent up emotions for that but Raina and Lorne are perfect for each other. I enjoyed their journey and the way it all ended. I definitely recommend this book and series to those who love dark stories. ARC provided by author in exchange for a honest review
