About the Author

Bryan O. Shannon Jr. is an entrepreneurial-minded business executive with a strong track record of helping businesses drive sales, grow market shares, and increase revenue through strong leadership, effective communication, and business development, along with team building, and cross-functional collaboration. As a leader and trusted business partner, set the strategic direction and lead cross-functional areas while developing new and existing leaders within the organization. Demonstrated experience synthesizing and translating market needs into product requirements, manifesting the product vision/direction via compelling positioning and messaging. Bryan was the founder and CEO of a start-up named TicketRX. He identified a need in an underserved commercial truck driver market and led the business from proof of concept to successful exit. Post-acquisition Bryan took over as the Managing Director of the acquiring company. He was responsible for overseeing the entire business operation, including sales, marketing, technology, and support of the newly formed international division ORDP powered by TicketRX. Mentor, scale and lead a mid-sized team. Assist owners, boards, and CEOs of small B2B brands with customer-centric omni-channel strategies focused on differentiated planning of online and offline tactics.

Bryan C. Boots serves as Associate Teaching Professor with the Henry W. Bloch School of Management, and Managing Director with the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, both at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). At UMKC, he teaches classes on product development, technology entrepreneurship, technology management, and data analytics, among other subjects. Previously, Bryan led the Regnier Institute's portfolio of Venture Creation programs, which includes the Entrepreneurship Scholars (E-Scholars) program, competitions, mentorship programs, and technology commercialization. In this role, he helped mentor hundreds of aspiring Kansas City-area entrepreneurs. Bryan earned his PhD from Colorado State University, MBA from University of Missouri-Kansas City, and MS from University of Arkansas.
