I need a cold shower and a slap across the face! Brenda Rothert has done it again! She is one of my favorite authors. She has a wonderful gift and is able to make you see and feel everything as you are reading. I literally laughed out loud at the witty banter and I blushed a few times too. The characters are drawn to each other and the sexual chemistry is intense. I felt it through my Kindle and it was hot! Buy this book and find out for yourself. You won't regret it, I promise.

Bound is a story of two individuals bound together with the same pain: LOSS of a loved one. When is it okay to finally move on? Do second chances really exists? Rothert did a fabulous job in this stand-alone book, incorporating loss, grief, humor, sexiness, and romance. This is Rothert's third book that I have read and her books have never failed me. She makes her readers FEEL and those are the books I tend to gravitate towards to. I really enjoyed this book and recommend everyone to read it.

I started reading this book without any knowledge of what it was about and I must say it was totally worth it. The dramas and experiences and emotions felt in this book were so dead on that I felt as if I was going thru them myself. At times I agreed with the main characters and other times I was yelling at them! There are sad parts so please have tissues ready! But overall it was and is a very good book. i really hope the author does at least one more book about the two main characters.

I found this book to be powerful. I appreciated such a heavy topic being battled. Miscarriage is something so many women experience but it's often not talked about. Kate and Ryke's grief was, at times, tangible. But out of grief something beautiful can form. I also loved the hockey scenes! I'm not normally a hockey fan but this book made me want to be. And the comradery between the players was hilarious at times. Please check this book out! I promise you won't be disappointed.

I just finished reading 'BOUND' by Brenda Rothert, and, what an unexpected pleasure! This is the first book I've read by this author, so I I just finished reading 'BOUND' by Brenda Rothert, and, what an unexpected pleasure! This is the first book I've read by this author, so I had no idea what to expect. This story was so uplifting, and, while it had many of the usual genre plotting, I enjoyed this much more than some others that I have read. Kate has suffered a horrible loss, and is having a hard time moving on. Jason 'Ryke' Ryker, too, is looking to move forward from the grief that he had to deal with. What I liked about 'Bound' was that the two main characters see each others' personality quirks and accept each other for what and where they are in their journeys. That there was none of the usual get together/break up/make up going on, and that this is a standalone story are huge pluses for me. I thoroughly enjoyed 'Bound,' and look forward to reading more by Brenda Rothert.

5 star Review Bound (Fire on Ice #1) by Brenda Rothert This was my first read from Brenda Rothert and what an emotional roller coaster of a read did I chose to start with. It was heartbreaking, sad, uplifting and hopeful all at the same time. Simply put I was on the edge of my seat throughout my read of this book. Bound got to me on so many levels emotionally, I still feel as though I am reeling at times. The chemistry between Kate and Jason aka Ryke was exceptional. This book was all about finding yourself after tragedy, of learning to trust and believe in love and having the courage to take that leap of faith back into life. Bound is a beautifully written story with characters that were easy to relate too. I fell in love with Kate and Ryke, they touched my heart and gave me hope that their future would be better than their past as they came together and found love. I want a Ryke in my life! I am both excited and nervous for the nextt book in this series.

Brenda Rothert is fast becoming one of my go to authors and I don't know why it's taken me this long to read Bound the first book in the Fire and Ice Series. This is a love story that starts with heartache when grief brings two people together, it has it all sadness, second chance romance, happiness and finally closure. When you lose the love of your life how long do you grief for when is it time to move on ........ Kate is a happy go lucky college student when she finds herself pregnant but when she finally excepts she is going to be a mum tragedy strikes and at 17 weeks pregnant she loses her daughter. Ryker has it all a beautiful wife and promising NHL career, that was until a drunk driver took his wife from him in a car accident. His life is turned upside down until he meets Kate at a bereavement help group. There is no doubting the chemistry between Kate and Ryker but is he ready to move on and will she truly believe she is worthy of love ...... This book made me smile and it made me cry and now I need to read book two to find out where life is going to take this couple. Brilliant read

Brenda Rothert does a great job in this book of showing two people who are grieving different losses and how they are trying to continue on in their lives.  What happened to both of them was sad, however, Kate seemed to have a much harder time learning to try to live and move forward with her life.  She was a little too over the top for me at some points and, though I felt sympathetic, I felt she needed to quit having a pity party and fight for happiness in her life.  For a psych major, she lacked some basic coping skills and that had me frustrated more than a couple of times.

good read could have been better if maybe quinn character had caused some trouble even the character that was flirting in the grief counseling just so i could root for them after obstacles were in the way

Bound was sooooo good!!! I felt so bad for Kate when she lost her baby. Ryke was so good to her even though he had his own issues with the death of his wife. I even shed some tears when they went to her grave. Kate is a very strong women.
