Overview

Welcome to Farraday Country, a twist on the favorite 7 Brides for 7 Brothers theme set in cattle-ranching west Texas, with all the friends, family and fun that fans have come to expect from USA TODAY Bestselling author Chris Keniston.

On the way to his family's ranch, Dr. Brooks Farraday encounters what he thinks is a hit and run. Instead he finds a beautiful stranger in the road petting a stray dog. He wants to be the friend she needs, but falling for her could come at too high price.

For Toni Castellano, attending a friend's wedding in West Texas seems the perfect escape from her life in Boston. The last thing she needs is another man in her life. She fell for Prince Charming once with disastrous results. But could Brooks Farraday really be her knight in shining armor?

About the Author

USA TODAY Bestselling author Chris Keniston's love of a good story and frustration with the end of a well known author's romance best seller, drove her to pen her own works of romance and fiction.

Her romantic women's fiction novels include a variety of themes from international settings dealing with wealthy millionaires, family feuds and tropical beaches, to the relationships between family and friends in small town Texas, and to sisterhood and friendship in the award winning novel The Champagne Sisterhood

Currently working on the contemporary romance Aloha Series, Chris Keniston is enjoying playing with her former military heroes. Using popular themes of small towns and sandy beaches blended with stories of the single dad, survivors guilt, an accidental wedding and more is making the Aloha Series a reader's choice.

A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Author of more than a dozen contemporary novels, including a finalist for the prestigious Golden Heart Award, Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

Would have given this a 5 but for $3.99 I was expecting more than 130 pgs of actual reading. Also, the buildup of William was a let down how abruptly he died.

Cute stories but these are novellas at $4 each. That's a bit much for a short story, about 80 pages of actual story, and there are seven children. Sorry but you lost me. I'm not willing to pay that much for a novella.

Brooks is the second book in this wonderful series. Toni comes for Meg' s wedding but has decided to leave her husband. Brooks has feelings for Toni but is keeping them locked because she is a married woman. When he discovers her troubles he wants to help. The characters are well written and your hoping Toni will get away from her abusive husband. Enjoyed and can't wait for Connors story. joy943

This one was more intense than the first. The trauma is real and the story came alive. Best part is how Brooks and Toni are such a big part of the rest of the series. Oh and I love the dog's part in the ending. (As well as the beginning)

Brooks--loved this book as much as the first book "Adam". was fascinated with the dog and the way Chris writes him into the books.

I like this series. These brothers are too good to be true. Each book is a little more than 120 pages with an introduction to the next one. If you can afford to shell out the bucks, go for it. Simone24

If you love romance books this is a good one. Even though this is a series you can probably read out of order but it helps to start at book one to really get to know the characters. An old college friend, Toni comes to visit Meg, and has a secret she isn't ready to share yet. Of course the handsome Doctor, Brooks, is the lucky recipient of the news, and can't help wanting to protect her. There is a twist you don't see coming. What is that?? You'll have to read to find out. This book can be easily read in an afternoon. The characters are very likable!

I am in love with the Farraday family and I can not choose my favorite! The warmth and strength of this family and the community is awesome. Brooks is the doctor in the family and is so busy with his practice that he barely has time to look at a woman. Toni has a secret that has her so tied up that a man is the last thing she is thinking of. No one is trying to play matchmaker with this pair, but there is something.... While the romance is the focus of the book, the reality and insidiousness of mental abuse is a pivotal point. Once again the chemistry is fantastic but things flow differently in this one since as far as everyone knows, she is married. I love the mystic dog that shows up again when Toni and Brooks meet and makes a surprising twist believable. I absolutely loved the book and it doesn't really show. I requested an advanced reader copy of this books and was thrilled to get it. The review is completely voluntary.
