Brown Skin and the Brilliant Sun is the author's sixth volume of poetry. It continues his bold and unconventional exploration of the themes of faith, art, culture, society, identity, and the Black Experience. It is the first book the author has written as the Poet Laureate of the city of Medford, Massachusetts. It delves deeply into the issues of class, race, religion/spirituality, diversity, equity, inclusion and American morality.
