Romantic suspense, set in French Lick Indiana, first in the Alicia Yu, FBI series.
Between a beacon of hope and redemption, comes Jacob. Nora’s future hangs in the balance of his past.
Pacifist Mennonite social worker Nora Martin is on the verge of opening a residential facility for first-time offenders. After years of planning, she’ll finally be able to rescue young men from the violence of prison…or what has been their only other option, the violence of the military.
But then a stranger in camouflage and combat boots marches through her front door and claims to own her house. And he’s not interested in letting Nora change it.
Who is Petty Officer Jacob Schwartz, and why does no one in the close-knit town of French Lick, Indiana want to acknowledge that he exists? What are they hiding? What had seemed like a safe community is now full of secrets and old heartaches, and Nora is caught in the dangerous middle. Her only ally is her best friend, FBI agent Alicia Yu (who readers first met in Glitter and Sorrow), but even Alicia can’t protect her from the way Nora’s heart races every time Jacob’s in the room.
Can she trust a man in uniform?
Nora and Jacob’s choices have taken them down different paths, but God may still show them a safe way back.
About the Author
Helena's first ever publishing attempt, during the second year of high school drew the unwanted attention of the Czechoslovakian State Secret Police. It was 1985, the iron fist of communism still firmly in place, left no room for freedom of speech.Four years later, a teen refugee, struggling with English, Helena submitted three articles to The Mississauga News. To her astonishment, all three were published. Her dreams of a journalism degree disintegrated in the necessities of everyday life. As many new immigrants, she got a job and stuck with it. Writing on hold, Helena focused on her young family. In 1999 she returned to writing as fiction set her heart on fire. "Burning Justice is my debut story, fifteen years in the making, countless hours, one focus – a sincere wish that my novels deliver style, substance and hours of wholesome entertainment to my readers. Enjoy."

Enjoyed the book
The story line was proming but the haracters were a little to hot and cold for me. Happy to sa to happy again in two sentences. That made it a bit hard to invest in the characters or the romance.
I really enjoyed this book I was pulled into the story line and the lives of the characters from the first pages, and once I started it I could not put it down. It is a wonderful combination of mystery, romance and faith that made for a very good read. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I definitely will be looking forward to the next book in this series. This is one that I definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys good Christian suspense.
