Butternutt Moon

Once, Bitsy had a room of her own complete with pink flowered curtains, away from her three brothers. Now she finds herself sleeping on the floor of Grandpa Willie’s shanty far from her home in Coal City, West Virginia. What’s worse, almost unbearable, is leaving behind her sister’s grave. Things get bleaker still when tempers flare and the family finds themselves living in a tent. Only through the unlikeliest of friendships is Bitsy able to find hope.
