About the Author

Those who can, do. Those who cannot, teach . . . or better still, write. Tom Vetter did both, living it first and writing about it later. As a naval officer, Commander Vetter served two decades and sailed 100,000 miles in submarines during the Vietnam and Cold Wars. He piloted submersibles and Navy bathyscaph TRIESTE II (DSV-1) on dives deeper than three miles to find aircraft, shipwrecks and pilots lost on the seafloor. His undersea exploration and search innovations are still in use by the U.S. Navy and others. After several lives' worth of adventure at sea, Tom retired from the Navy to work another career in information technology, operating a successful IT architecture business for more than a decade. When his wife's declining health required another retirement in 2012, writing and publishing became a third career. Since then, Tom started Tom Vetter Books, LLC, a Virginia-based publishing business, wrote Thirty Thousand Leagues Undersea, a memoir anthology of true tales about his undersea adventures, and Call to Crusade, first in the four-book “Siege Master” historical fiction series, retelling the First Crusade as the recollections of a noble Scottish siege lord. Tom and his wife live in Dumfries, Virginia.

"I loved 'Call to Crusade'! It rates in my top 5 of best books ever! It was gripping, intriguing, and eventful. There was always a new twist that got me hooked (again)! I couldn't put it down and finished it within a week. I can't wait for the sequel!" - Harrison, discerning reader
