About the Author

Cynthia Woolf was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in the mountains west of Golden. She spent her early years running wild around the mountain side with her friends.

Their closest neighbor was one quarter of a mile away, so her little brother was her playmate and her best friend. That fierce friendship lasted until his death in 2006.

Cynthia was and is an avid reader. Her mother was a librarian and brought new books home each week. This is where young Cynthia first got the storytelling bug. She wrote her first story at the age of ten. A romance about a little boy she liked at the time.

She worked her way through college and went to work full time straight after graduation and there was little time to write. Then in 1990 she and two friends started a round robin writing a story about pirates. She found that she missed the writing and kept on with other stories. In 1992 she joined Colorado Romance Writers and Romance Writers of America. Unfortunately, the loss of her job demanded she not renew her memberships and her writing stagnated for many years.

In 2001, she saw an ad in the paper for a writers conference being put on by CRW and decided she'd attend. One of her favorite authors, Catherine Coulter, was the keynote speaker. Cynthia was lucky enough to have a seat at Ms. Coulter's table at the luncheon and after talking with her, decided she needed to get back to her writing. She rejoined both CRW and RWA that day and hasn't looked back.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and the great friends she's made at CRW for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

160 pages. Terrible grammer. Detailed sex. Lots of tears and arguing. Some violence. Very unrealistic. This book was free and I agree with the other reviewers about it being a waste of my time. Hmmm, I think I should be paid for my time. The kids even got on my nerves. They were Stepford kids, only spoiled. The husband was an ass. The heroine more childish then her daughter. The cousin was a horrible monster. I admit to skipping pages. This was the worst book I have read so far this year. Do not waste your time. I did. For adults only. AD

Could be a nice story. But,the simple writing is unbareable

OMG!!! Now this is writing! This story moved fast and the writing was efficient in moving through the story, but I learned to love the Characters, except for William. The 95 pages too about an hour to read and I enjoyed the entire experience. I am sure you will enjoy it, too!!!

The story line was good, however the grammar part need to have some work done on it. .

This was a good read. It has romance, a villain, and a spunky heroine with an adorable daughter. The story line takes place in the old west, which is my favorite. It was a quick read for me, and I would recommend it for others who enjoy romance mixed with the wild west!

Some reviewers are just plain mean. This was a delightful story. Simplistic in writing style, but the characters were great. The awful cousin, William, was certainly insane and hated. But John is the kind of man I would want to find for my own husband. (Ranch life would be a bonus!) Sarah was strong and the daughters a good example of having loving parents and being obedient children of days long ago. ( I am a teacher. Believe me, kids have changed.) I doubt I will read it again, but I enjoyed this book! Oh, it was nearly 300 pages on my Nook. Thanks for the free read!

Ewww. His sexy talk sounds like creepy pick-up lines. It's hard to believe that there is no conflict between the girls or period of adjustment for everyone to get used to each other. Yuck!!

Terrible grammar, choppy storyline and unrealistic. I dont know much about this timeperiod but i do know this didnt come close. It does have potential though if it were expanded at least 100 pgs..

Good thing this book was free or I would want my money back.  The plot is abysmal and the conflict contrived.  "Oh, yeah, I forgot to say he still loves his wife, so, he does." "Oh, yeah, I forgot to say the cousin is crazy, but he is."  Don't bother.

Character development was good, the story draws you in. I would read another book by Cynthia Woolf.

I don't think that Sep. and Nov. reviewers even read the story. It's a good read. A western romance with a handsome hero, spunky heroine, two cute little girls and a nutso villian. It's not Tolstoy, but I saved it to reread. 18+. JS
