Caro's Book of Poker Tells by Mike Caro, Mike Caro's Caro

One of the ten greatest books written on poker, this must-have book should be in every player's library. If you're serious about winning, you'll realize that most of the profit comes from being able to read your opponents. Caro reveals the secrets of interpreting tells - physical reactions that reveal information about a player's cards - such as shrugs, sighs, shaky hands, eye contact, and many more. Learn when opponents are bluffing, when they aren't and why - based solely on their mannerisms. Over 170 photos of players in action and play-by-play examples show the actual tells. These powerful ideas will give you the decisive edge. 320 pages

Definitely a must have for any serious poker player. Really gets into the psychology of tells and is very interesting. Although I don't like how he tries to quantify the profitability of being able to realize certain tells. Also, the game of poker has changed a lot and a large amount of these tells are known my many experienced poker players.

The information in this book is very helpful for anyone trying to become successful at poker. It doesn't go in depth about the math and probability portion of poker but it is more aimed towards the psychological and idea of "reading" other players. Very useful.

Caro's book is the best out there on the subject of tells. I would highly recommend it for someone looking for an edge. It's good to know how detect tells and hide your own.

When I started playing poker, I was always able to win because I was smart enough to fold weaker hands, and stick to playing mosters. After reading Caro's book on poker tells, I now am able to conquer the table by sensing weakness in my opponents. This ability will set you miles apart from your opponent, it will tell you when to strike and when to lay down. If you like to win money and you know basic poker strategy, you MUST read this book. This book IS free money at a poker table, if you dont get it your a fool!

Well, you can't really read your opponents' minds, but this book will help you convince other players that you are clairvoyant. Caro presents the information in a straightforward manner with lots of pictures to illustrate his point. Some of the tells are more useful than others, and none are correct 100% of the time, but I have found many of them to be highly useful when making decisions at the poker table. This book is a must if you are a serious poker player.

There are plenty of books out there that teach you the proper starting hands, pot odds, etc. I find that most decent players know this stuff cold. If you want to gain an edge, you need something more and I found Caro's book of tells to be both helpful and insightful.

This is a great book for those that love to play live poker. This is an essential tool to read your opponents and to gain that edge. Like everything in poker...reading tells is the art of interpreting imperfect information. However, the more imperfect information you can get...the better off you will when making those tough decisions. Good Luck

This book has helped me to put some of the finishing touched onto my game. Before I read this book I was making some money but I was losing money to people because I couldn't read their bluffs. Now since I haved read this book in a less then a day I have only played twice since then but my game has deff. improved. Now I have the confidence to make that call or know when I should lay down a good hand. I suggest this book to anyone trying to improve their game. Im happy the people I play with haven't read this book because it gives me a huge edge on them.

I couldn't get this information into my system fast enough. I devoured it within one 7-hour sitting. Caro points out some obvious tells and explains the meaning behind all of them. He also emphacizes the psychology that no one else know unless this book is in their library. This is a manual that one must continuely refer back to. A must read if you want to continue to grow in poker.

Excellent source for beginners and sages alike, Caro clearly points out obvious and obscure tells and describes the motivation behind these behaviors. In addition to being able to spot tells, Caro's literature allows you to spot your own weaknesses and also learn to feign tells. Overall, an easy read with prosperous advice.

I went out and got this book about 6 monthes ago and I have read it twice since then. Its very good for beginners and intermediate players. If you read this book you are going to be one step ahead of almost everyone you are playing with. After I read the book I went out and played with some friends (that are unaware of their painfully obvious tells)and took almost all their money. After reading this you will figure out who is a good card player and who is simply just 'lucky'. The book also makes you aware of your own tells. Each tell in the book is accompanyed by illistrations. It is a page turner that you will read strait through in about two days. An easy and insightful read into the world of poker.

You have no idea how good/bad the poker players in your group are until you read this book. If you have been playing poker for a while prior to reading this book then you will start to see in your mind's eye all those hands that you didn't call the bluff and all the ones where you got owned by a much better hand. This book will tell you not only why you shouldn't have called that hand, it'll also give you the confidence to raise into someones bluff, making you the owner instead of the owned... While this book doesn't tell you that you should not play dumb hands like 2 7 offsuit or 3 8 suited, when you get good at reading people you'll be able to 'put them on' hands like that as well as the AA and KK. I started reading the book 2 months ago, and I can tell you it has saved me at least a hundred dollars while it has made me 3 or 4 times that amount in a 25-50 cent blind no limit game of Texas Hold'em. I can now put someone on a hand (unless there is no rhyme or reason for their play) about 65-75% of the time. Great buy. If you want to win you must own this book.
