Just as great as the first one! Therr may have been one or two typos that I had to reread to figure out but nothing too drastic. The endings of these series is suspensful and will keep you wanting more, I know I am. And the excerpt of book 3 is just as much a tease as the entire 300+ pages of book 2. Definately recommend Too bad "The Road" doesn't come out till 01/2017 (who'd do such a thing) SF

I really do love this author and all her books are great. For this book though the only thing that bothers me is how wishy-washy River can be with Kobal. I hate how she jumps to conclusions or second guesses him so easily or thinks he automatically will be with someone else if he's not with her. I just hate that in girl characters in general it irritates me. Other than that the books are great and really captures my attention.

Another well written, high intensity, intriguing story that will leave you on the edge of your seat, anticipating the next book. I keep telling myself that I am not a paranormal/supernatural book lover, and Brenda K. Davies keeps proving me wrong. The story is so well written that the paranormal, while integral to the story line, feels believable. For all those who think you may not like this genre, this series will prove you wrong!

I absolutely LOVE this story arc. I have never read a demon based book before and I have been missing out!! Carved is the second in the series, Good Intentions is the first. Grab them both so you have wonderful books to read over the weekend. There is love, sex, violence and friendship in this book. A good thing. The narrative draws you into the story. Brenda has such a way with words. You feel like you could go meet with the people in the story. And one thing I loved is the humor in this book. I was dying laughing, which is hard for me to do with most books. Some authors do not so humor very well. Grab this book and a drink and have fun. And as always, you're welcome.

Carving the Road to Hell Book two in the Road to Hell series by Brenda K. Davies proved to be as riveting and hard to put down as Good Intentions. In the moments I’d have to stop reading, I’d find myself thinking about the characters and wondering what was going to happen next until I could return to the story and find out for myself. With each new obstacle Kobal and River faced, I felt I was taking the journey with them, and by the last page I felt as if I’d learned so much about their world. Brenda’s imagination shines as bright as the life force River wields as she introduces us to new creatures, characters, and situations. The descriptions of the surroundings and characters easily built a visual that played through my mind while my heart is raced. I love that Brenda can throw in moments of levity with new characters while still keeping to the tone and feel of the story. Kobal and River’s brief moments of reprieve in their race against the broken seals are enough to deepen their connection and strengthen the bond these Chosen have. I love watching River’s abilities grow and expand with each obstacle she faces. She’s evolving into a confident, capable warrior while still retaining that loving, sweet side that Kobal loves so much. Best of all, she doesn’t back down from him, and is determined to follow her heart--that core of who she is that keeps her humanity firmly in place. I’m already greatly anticipating book three. Watching the variations of River’s ancestry enhance and build her growing powers means we have much to look forward to as the story continues, and I absolutely can’t wait!
