From the author who brought us the unforgettable Waverly Bryson and the bestselling Perfect on Paper series.
Bestselling author Cassidy Lane walks into her twentieth high school reunion with several novels under her belt, but no date on her arm, and deep down she still feels like the smart girl no one asked to the prom. Then handsome Brandon Forrester confesses his teenage crush, and soon Cassidy finds herself swept up in a modern-day fairytale romance not unlike the tales she spins for a living. While their relationship blossoms, however, the new book she’s writing isn't going as well, and for the first time in her career she considers crafting an ending that doesn't end with a proverbial walk into the sunset. Contemplating the simultaneous reversal of her own romantic fortune and that of her protagonist’s is daunting, but maybe it’s time for both her writing and her personal life to take a new path. Or is it?
Filled with Murnane’s trademark wit and optimism, a charming cast of secondary characters, and loads of heart, Cassidy Lane will have you cheering for its heroine down to the very last delightful word.

I wanted to love this novel based on the premise of Cassidy finding a romance at her 20th reunion. But I found so many parts of Cassidy, supposedly around 38 years old, to vary so much between teen and adult feelings. Maybe part of that was the point--that she was so infatuated with the idea of Brandon that the reality didn't always pan out. I did like her friends and family, they were so supportive of her, no matter what. It was an ok read, just not as good as I hoped.
This is my first book by Maria Murnane and I absolutely loved it. Cassidy is such a likable person and her self-esteem issues make her so realistic. Suffering from self-esteem issues in my younger days I could completely relate with this character. I also found myself thinking she has such an amazing life. The love story in this book was just enough to be magical, yet not over-the-top-too-good-to-be-true. This story had me turning pages as quickly as I could, on edge for what would happen next. I really hope this is the first in a series because I would love to see what happens next for Cassidy.
