Chasing Cristabel (Ashland Pride Series #6) by R.E. Butler

Lioness Cristabel Hardison would do just about anything to avoid going home to Kentucky, where her father, the king of their pride, wants to mate her to a male of his choosing. When her roommate needs to vacate his condo, she takes her best friend, Lily, up on her offer to let her stay in Ashland until she can find another job and a new place to live.

Cousins Dylan, Chase, and Hunter Hall aren’t sure they’ll ever find a mate to share. Just because other lions have found their mates doesn’t mean that every male is meant to. Then one day at the town diner, they scent their mate, except no one knows who she is, and they only know that she smells like sunshine and tall grass. Their desire to find their mate takes over their lives and nothing – not even a pesky new waitress at Kickers Bar – is going to stop them from figuring out who their mate is and loving her forever.

When Cris meets her mates, sparks fly fast, and she finds herself at the center of their world. Her father isn’t happy, and when he brings an uninvited guest to crash her happiness, her own future may not be the only thing on the line.

This book contains three males who want to hold on to their lioness forever, a female with some unresolved family issues, a house full of lions who will protect their own, and enough heat to melt the snow. Contains m/f/m/m interaction.

About the Author

A Midwesterner by birth, R.E. spent much of her childhood rewriting her favorite books to include herself as the main character. Later, she graduated on to writing her own books after "retiring" from her day job as a secretary to become a stay-at-home mom. When not playing with her kids, wrestling her dogs out the door, or cooking dinner for her family, you'll find her typing furiously and growling obscenities to the characters on the screen. Her best-selling series Wiccan-Were-Bear, The Necklace Chronicles, Hyena Heat, Wilde Creek, Were-Zoo, Arctic Shifters, Norlanian Brides, Saber Chronicles, and Ashland Pride are available now.

Cristabel is a lioness willing to do anything to avoid going home to kentucky. Her father is the haj or king of the pride and is planning to pick a mate for her. Nope she is holding out for her true mate. When she need a place to stay she moves in with a friend in Ashland. Dylan, Chase, And Hunter all work at the bar called Kickers. Chase is the bartender, Dylan the kitchen manager and Hunter the assistant manager / bouncer. That's where they all meet but while they are all on cloud nine thier are 2 forces moving against them determined to end of their happiness. I loved the action, drama, betrayal, suspense, twist and turns. It's a great read shifter fans this is hot ! Hot ! Hot ! Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

Liked the characters, but didn't love them. I like a book that really draws me in and this one didn't do it for me. Good, but not great.

Uberreader's review of Chasing Cristabel (Ashland Pride #6) by R.E. Butler July 10, 2016 by Heather Danielle This is a very intense storyline, of a woman wanting to control her own life and not bow down to the demands and expectations of family and community. I read this book in nine hours. There is action in every page which keeps the reader engaged. R. E. Butler is a true story teller her world and characters are vibrant and alive. I am fan of this series, not once have I been disappointed with any of the other books in this series. They like this book are intense edge of your seat rides. You will come to love all the characters (as I do) in the pride as if they are a part of your family. The patriarch of the pride has managed to keep his extended family together through many times of hardship. The primary characters are as individual as people are meant to be.

Chase, Hunter and Dylan are finally getting their story! I love these guys. They’re everything wonderful about the Ashland Pride; sweet, loving, protective, generous and devoted to their mate. I liked that Cris jumps in with both feet, no hesitation. Being a shifter herself she understands true mates and what meeting them means. We get to see plenty of the rest of the pride and a peek into what the future brings. Highly recommended author and series Adult read

Their woman lay in Hunter’s arms like a dream, her arms around his neck as if she were used to putting them there. She seemed a little dazed, and her heart was pounding. He stormed through the bar and into Perry’s office. A faux leather couch sat against one wall, the cushions torn and worn from years of use. He set her down on the couch, hating to let her go. The door shut, and he went to his knees in front of her as Chase and Dylan joined them. “Sweetheart?” Hunter said, cupping her face and staring into the bluest eyes he’d ever seen. She blinked slowly, and her lush mouth parted. “Hi.” “Hi, yourself,” Chase said with a chuckle. “Are you okay?” Hunter asked. “For almost making an fool out of myself? Yes, I’m good. Thank you for saving me.” Dylan went to his knees, and Chase followed, so that all three of them were kneeling in front of her. The corner of her mouth quirked up. Dylan said, “You slipped on an ice cube. Totally not your fault.” She reached her hand out and cupped his cheek. “WOW, you’re adorable. What’s your name?” “Dylan,” his voice squeaked, and his cheeks flamed as he cleared his throat. “Dylan Hall. “I’m Cristabel Hardison, but you can call me Cris.” Her hand slipped away from Dylan’s cheek and landed lightly on Hunter’s bicep. She walked her fingers across his chest and lifted the edge of his sleeve. “You smell like ink and the mountains.” His tattoo, a tribal design that he’d had inked over the winter, went from his elbow to his shoulder. Her nail scratched lightly on the surface, and a shiver shot up his spine. “I’m Hunter.” Her right hand stayed on Hunter’s arm, rubbing over the black ink, and her left hand reached out for Chase. “Chase,” he said, closing his eyes for just a moment when her hand touched his face. “You’re the bartender, right?” “Yeah, how did you know?” She slipped her left hand down Chase’s arm and lifted his right hand, drawing his fingers to her lips. To all of their surprise, she licked one of his f
