## AMAZING. That's how I would describe this book. It was fabulously fun and sexy. I loved this heroine. She was so strong and capable, yet still kind and playful. I loved that she worked on cars and rode a motorcycle, yet she was incredibly beautiful. I hate when authors feel the need to write their heroines as plump, plain or mousy. It's fiction baby and I like pretty people! Anyway, I truly enjoyed reading this book and Jenna's as well and recommend them both. I didn't really care for Penny's story because Bass was such an ass. Ooh, funny how that rhimes. I will be reading this one again.

I've loved this series; each time Joya Ryan has brought her reader an entertaining read with great characters and their own brand of hot and sexy. And whilst Chasing Desire isn't my favourite of the three so far, it was a still a book I devoured. 'No way was he getting involved with a woman longer than a single night. Nope.' When Huck Galvin's head is turned but a pretty lady sat all alone in a bar, little does he realise her thoughts match his. And mechanic Autumn Lane has decided she fancies a night of no-strings fun with the sexy tattooed stranger. The stranger who unbeknownst to both of them is set to be her 'chaperone' whilst she house sits for her best-friend. 'Give me the one night I'm after, and then I'll walk away.' Once again, Joya has brought us a couple with a sizzling chemistry who compliment each other perfectly. Both are broken, bother have been hurt and both are reluctant to open-up, but neither can fight their desire and not only do they burn in the bedroom, but they unleash the softer side of one another. 'Cake. And Huck. Hard to say which one looked more tasty.' It may not have held any particular surprises, but if you are partial to a tattooed, dirty talking softie and stubborn, sparky lady then I'm certain you'll enjoy this. I love the dynamic of this group of friends and look forward to Ryder's story. Copy received courtesy of Entangled Publishing for an honest and unbiased opinion.

You know you have found a good book when you can completely submerse yourself into the story and just let go, which is what happens to me every time I pickup a book by Joya Ryan. Within the first few sentences of the book I feel myself being pulled into the characters lives and this shift begins to happen, and that is when I know I need to prepare myself for a impending emotional roller-coaster! This is the third installment in the series and it is as equally amazing as the first two books! It can be read as a stand alone, but I have a feeling that after you read it you'll be dying to get a closer look at the other characters in the series!

Good story & plenty of steam!

Autumn Lane's self esteem was low.  She was never told she was beautiful or wanted and had been hurt in the past.  Huck Galvin has been hurt in the past also.  He came home one day to an empty house because the woman he loved and was going to marry, left him.  Can these two injured souls come together to make a whole or are they too afraid of the past repeating itself? I loved it!!!  These two couldn't be more perfect for each other and their chemistry is off the charts HOT!  Huck has all the right moves and Autumn can't resist the sexy contractor.  Their issues are real and I tearfully feel for them.  Huck's father is fantastic and he's got great advice for his son.  Thank you Joya Ryan for such a fabulous read.  Definitely looking forward to more from this talented author. I really liked both Huck and Autumn's characters, and the chemistry between the two is off-the-charts hot :) Their sexytimes scenes are absolutely sizzling, and I was pulling for the two of them from page one. The secondary characters here were fun as well, and definitely left me interested in reading the first two books in the series (as well as future books, if Ms. Ryan is so inclined). But... You know what they say about what happens when we assume? Yep, the major roadblock to Huck and Autumn's HEA is their own erroneous assumptions. To an extent they're believable--both have major abandonment issues / self-esteem problems, and there's solid reasons for them to do so. But when their relationship seems to be going along swimmingly and they still are just going on what they think the other person will do or is thinking instead of coming out and having a conversation? Yeah, it got aggravating.  But all's well that ends well, and this one does end very well. ;) Ultimate verdict: frustrating at times, but overall an enjoyable read. I liked Ms. Ryan's voice, and did not have a problem jumping into the series at book three. I'll definitely read her again, and probably will back up and read books one and two...soon. Rating: 4 stars / B+ I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'm really loving this series by Joya Ryan, a new author to me, and I'm looking forward to reading her back catalogue. The Chasing Love series is an interconnecting collection of stories centering around a tight-knit group, set in the town of Diamond. This time we are privy to Huck's story. I strongly recommend starting at book #1 so you are totally immersed in this friendship group. I knew there was heartache behind this mans eyes, and when Autumn rides into his life, those fears and memories come to the surface. Autumn challenges Huck at every turn, calling him out on his behaviour and digging deeper for the truth behind his actions. A man not used to being challenged, Autumn throws him off balance, stirring a deep and magnetic attraction, pushing him to address the reasons for the walls he has built around his heart, and the reasons why he fights so hard to keep them in place. I love the blend of strong alpha male and all too human vulnerability Huck showed. He could be strong and commanding but also gentle and sweet. Autumn is one tough chick. She has survived a no-hoper of a father and boyfriend and has come out the other side determined to move on and never place herself in a position where she is left high and dry again. I really felt for Autumn, she had been through a lot, a victim of other people's poor choices and poor behaviour. She had a lot of spunk and character and I admired her strength to pick up and start again. At times her inner dialogue was a bit repetitive, but this didn't detract from the overall story. It was her fears and insecurity that held her back and I loved the way Huck was determined to make her feel special and wanted. Autumn and Huck were a perfect match and I loved the snarky and humorous banter between them. Their sexy times were just that, sexy, and the chemistry between them was palpable. They both know what they want in the bedroom and weren't afraid to say it and I loved that about both of them. On the emotional side, they both went through personal growth and transformation, realising how important trust and honesty is in a relationship. They both worked out early on, that this relationship was different even though it took a while for them to accept and acknowledge that. I really enjoyed seeing how their relationship went through the ups and downs of new love and then finally seeing them put their total trust in each other. Although Book #2 is still my favourite of this series, I would highly recommend delving into these characters stories and I cannot wait to read all about Ryder.

Autumn Lane has lost everything because of her father's gambling. She's determined to start over but first she needs to go to the wedding of her friend, Jenna. She's a bridesmaid after all. There she meets a sexy groomsman and they become involved. Huck Galvin doesn't do commitment. Neither does Autumn. Why can't they stop thinking about each other? The chemistry between these two is amazing. If only they could put their hurt behind them and realize how good they are together. Autumn is an original. She's a mechanic who can fix anything that has wheels. She's strong, but under her exterior there is a woman who carries scars from past rejection. Huck was left by a woman he loved and has vowed that it won't happen again. Love works wonders as these two open their hearts. This book was an emotional ride. The characters were well written and I felt their pain. I wanted them to have a HEA. I saw a future for them in Diamond surrounded by friends. Joya Ryan wrote a love story that had both passion and tenderness. I loved the ending.

My favorite of the Chasing Love Series. Every book was great, but this one did not disappoint! The REAL story to Huck, & Autumn was the perfect character to keep him on his toes!

'm a fan of Joya Ryan's Chasing Love series, so I was thrilled to get the opportunity to read and review Chasing Desire before its release. Much like the first two books in this standalone series, it was a quick and sexy read that I couldn't get enough of once I picked it up.  If I'm being honest, it did take me some time to connect with Autumn and Huck. Huck probably more than Autumn. She might have been "expiration dating" (or, I suppose, expiration hooking up) but she wasn't averse to the thought of ALL relationships. She just didn't want to be hurt and she didn't want to rely on others. Huck had quite a bit of baggage and, at times, it felt like he was using Autumn to try to get over his ex. A playboy who likes things on his terms, who likes to be the one to walk away, his thoughts and actions betrayed that. Autumn definitely got under his skin in a way no one had in a long time. Despite my initial misgivings about these two, I actually found myself really liking them by the end. I love when flawed characters grow throughout the course of a book, just like Autumn and Huck did. They grew together. They challenged each other. They had chemistry from the very start and it was easy to see. They were passionate and their sexy times were seriously hot. But, more than anything, I enjoyed reading those small moments in which it was apparent their relationship was changing into something else.  Chasing Desire was a great addition to the Chasing Love series. I enjoyed Autumn and Huck's story and I loved catching up with characters from the earlier books. I'll definitely be looking forward to Joya's next book!  I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

In this edition of the Chasing Love series we meet Huck and Autumn. Huck is the eternal bachelor after being scorned by a past girlfriend. The two of them meet the night before Jenna & Colt's nuptials. Their one night is all that Autumn wants, thinking that she will never see Huck again. Because of her past and insecurities, she leaves Huck sleeping off their escapade without saying goodbye. Unbeknownst to Autumn she comes face to face with Huck the very next day and Huck is not very happy to be the one left. Autumn is house-sitting for the two newlyweds and it gives Huck just enough opportunity to get her out of his system, or at least that's what his intentions initially were. Their relationship progresses into an enticing read, that makes you fall in love with the two of them. I think I can say that Huck is my favorite so far!!! Now we just need to find out what happens with Ryder....

Autumn Lane is a badass. But she’s a badass who has been burned, most notably by her no good father. She’s a mechanic, she rides a motorcycle, and she’s got a mouth on her, but she’s also got a big old chip on her shoulder, and no measurable self-worth. Let’s just say that finding a job isn’t the work she’s in need of. Huckleberry Galvin is a hottie. But he’s a hottie that no longer believes in commitment. He’s tattooed, got a drawl, and works with his hands, but he’s been jilted just when he thought he was ready to settle down, and has made a promise to himself never to be let down like that again. Showing a friend of a friend around town sounds like a chore, but keeping her out of his heart is an even bigger one. So of course they bang and fall madly in love. That’s how these things work. Romance novels maybe don’t break the storytelling mold, but there are ways for each one to stand out. Autumn is the standout for me in Chasing Desire. Her bravado, a thin veneer over an ocean of unhappiness, is fierce and sometimes a little too forthright. But her attitude is admirable, and even though her struggle to find self-worth could’ve been a little less hand-in-hand with her falling for Huck, it’s still earned. She does good work, she makes some friends, and all of that is outside of what’s going on with her and the man she didn’t ask for but totally wants. Her scenes with Penny in particular are excellent. I could read a thousand pages of Autumn learning to have female friends. I don’t know whether I want to be Huck or bone Huck, but either way, he’s pretty damn awesome. Poor guy was all ready to marry his girl and start a family, and she walked out on him. This fear of someone leaving him leads to start up a ridiculous game with Autumn, though it’s really with himself. I must sleep with her so I can walk away. Damn, she got up earlier than me and left. I must sleep with her again so I can walk away. Oh, Huck. Love/hate sex is pretty hot, as we all know, but it’s better than that with Autumn and Huck. Because while they’re denser than bran muffins, the reader can see how much they care for each from the off, and not just because they’re great together in bed. The emotion is there from word one, and I think that makes them even hotter to read about. Wanna root for some sexy, down-and-out characters that find love? Grab this book. And check out the rest of the series too!

awesome story of how love at first sight can really happen= HEA ****A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for an honest review**** Huck and Autumn are two characters who are so imperfect, they’re perfect for each other. Autumn learned very young that life never gave her any guarantees and the only one she could count her was she.  Her job as a mechanic is unique as in I don’t think I have really read about women mechanics before.  Autumn comes to her friend’s wedding and her friend asks her to house-sit for her while she is on her honeymoon.  Her friend who got married even arranged for someone to come and show her around town. AND that person is Huck Galvin- he is a sexy, tattooed , and  heavily muscled man. The heat that is around the two is unbelievable.  Huck has some hidden pain and scars from an x-girlfriend who left him several years back which has left him leery about getting involved again. Basically the story has Autumn and Huck engaged in a one night stand that quickly getting into a two night stand and then a relationship develops . The question of the hour is at the end of Autumn’s visit , will she sat or will she go-  I literally couldn’t sit still , I had to know fast . This story was great in expressing the characters feelings, thoughts and the secondary characters were good as well.  I really enjoyed Huck and Autumn’s story and hope to see more stories in this factional world. My rating: 4.4  stars ****

**Review Copy Provided by Publisher** I had an unplanned day off work today (thank you 6″ of snow and the Federal Gov’t closing), so in typical fashion after shoveling myself out of my driveway, I jumped in the car and headed out for a pedicure, kindle in hand with Joya Ryan’s new book just sitting there waiting to be read. Yes, I am that kind of dork when it comes to reading! So I settled in to get my pedicure, opened my kindle and was sucked into Huck and Autumn (Auto’s) story. I’d read the first book in the series previously (although not the second), so I knew the context in which the opening scenes took place (and while I think this could easily be read as a stand-alone – knowing the previous couples in the series is also advantageous). Ms Ryan has a very smooth but energetic way of story-telling – you find yourself sucked into the story, clicking away one page/screen at a time, and before I knew it, I was over 3/4 of the way done (thankfully, I still had to wait for my toe nails to finish drying, so I could finish reading before I left). but I’m sure no one wants to read about my adventures in pedicures (although I will admit picking a nail polish can be kind of an adventure) ;) So on to the book… Where to begin…I loved Autumn as a character, she was kick-ass and thankfully didn’t have any TSTL moments (to stupid to live) like many heroines in romances nowadays. Her job as a mechanic was something different (I can only think of one other romance featuring a female mechanic right now (Start Me Up – Victoria Dahl) – although plenty of ones with male mechanics (maybe because the visual of a grimy, sweaty man just makes hearts go aflutter). And you could tell that the author had done her research and Autumn was believable in how she presented herself – her job wasn’t just in the story as a place-holder/in the background – it was an active part in moving the plot and relationship between her and Hank forward. Seriously, I mean, not many women (at least that i know) would grab tools on the day of a friends wedding (while she is supposed to be getting ready) to fix something that needed fixing…I’m just sayin’ And then there was Huck…ok, so yeah, the name threw me at the beginning because it just seemed to out of left field – I mean, I was having visions of Huckleberry Finn at times, and not the tattooed/pierced bad boy he was. While he was presented in a very visual way, I do wish some more of him as a person was developed – there were some great one-liners with him and his father about his lack of mechanical skills (even if he could build anything else) – and I felt the lose that he suffered, that made him part of the curmudgeon that he could be seen as being early on in the story. As with my previous books i’ve read by her, one of Ms Ryan’s strengths is the secondary characters who appear in the town. I particularly liked Huck’s father and you could see from his characterization how much he loved his son/wanted to see him be happy. I also liked seeing Jenna and Colt (from bk 1 again); and now I want to go back and read book 2 for Penny and Sebastian’s story. if you want a fun, smexy, mostly-angst free contemporary romance, I highly recommend Joya Ryan’s Chasing love series. 4 stars

5 stars So much love for Chasing Desire! It's her best friend's wedding, and Autumn Lane is trussed up in a pink bridesmaid dress with a big “everything is great” smile plastered across her face. She's not going think about her life imploding, or spending the next two weeks housesitting in the ridiculously small town of Diamond. No, she'd rather think about the tattooed hottie in the wedding party...and how to turn the wicked way he’s looking at her into a night of intense pleasure. Huck Galvin is fiercely attracted to his mystery woman's no-BS attitude, but their one-night-no-strings plan backfires when Huck discovers that Autumn is the out-of-towner he's “chaperoning” for the next two weeks. Outside the bedroom, the two can’t stand each other, yet Huck can’t deny how much he wants one more night with her. But Autumn isn't going to make it easy for Huck. Not by a long shot... Every now and then you start reading a book and you know from the first page this is going to be a good read, for me Chasing Desire was an awesome read.  Loved the characters, the storyline and the chemistry between Autumn and Buck was off the charts! All I can say is hot hot hot! I have a serious girl crush on Autumn, loved her! Loved seeing Autumn and Buck going at each other, one moment they were tearing their clothes off the next they were arguing and bantering with one another. Their banter and sexual innuendo had me laughing one min and blushing the next =) Poor Buck he didn't know what to do with all these feelings Autumn was making him feel. For me, Chasing Desire ticked all the boxes and the epilogue left me with a heart full of love. Chasing Desire is the third book from the Chasing Love series and can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this book and this series. Thank you Joya Ryan for giving us readers another heartwarming and entertaining read.

Actual Rating 3.5 out of 5 Stars! Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating! I'm only two books into this series at this point and I am loving it. I feel like it comes down to the characters for me. There's this closeness and family like vibe to the friendships throughout the series that brings a smile to your face and has me wanting to go find my own little version of Diamond. In addition to the memorable characters you can also expect great storylines, steaminess bordering on on scorching, the men are rugged and very alpha, the girls are sweet and stubborn and feisty. Plus the icing on the cake is the sweet, small town setting that makes you want to pack your bags and go immediately. Though this series centers around a group of friends from the small town of Diamond, Autumn is a new addition to town. I thought she was so much fun. She's a mechanic and a tomboy, not the typical heroine I'm used to with these kinds of books so it was very refreshing. There's this brokenness about her and she's had a very sad life that has left her with zero self-worth and yet she carries herself with this streak of confidence that was admirable. Huck was just a great big bowl of yum. I love the fact that even though he's all alpha male, he was also secure enough within himself to ease up on the control every now and again and allow Autumn to take over. The way he carries himself with his group of friends and even his relationship with his father allow you to see that Huck is just this really amazing guy. Even when he messes up with Autumn, because someone always messes up in a really good romance at some point, you know without a doubt that it's not just because he's a complete jerk. He has valid trust issues and you never doubt for one second that Huck isn't a genuine, redeemable guy. Am I smitten or what? This being my second book by Joya Ryan, the first one was Chasing Temptation book 2 in this series, I'm really falling in love with her writing style. The relationships she's created in both books I've read so far are insanely hot and steamy and yet there is this sweetness and tenderness to them that melts my heart. I adore her characters and the way they all mesh together. You can feel the close bonds of friendship through the writing, the way they give each other crap and support each other, I just want to be friends with everyone! Plus it was so much fun seeing Bass and Penny from the last book make quite a few appearances in this one! So I still haven't read the first book yet, Chasing Trouble, but now that I have these other two under my belt I immediately bought it before I started writing this review and I can't wait to get to know Jenna and Colt. If, like me, you like a good Brazen I highly recommend this series. They're short, steamy and sweet. The perfect recipe to a good romance! Thank you Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Chasing Desire, from Entangled's Brazen line, is a quick, sexy read. No time is wasted in introducing us to the two emotionally-damaged leads. Both have been kicked in the heart by their exs, both are determined not to make themselves vulnerable in love again. But of course, Autumn and Huck are drawn to each other. I really loved how vulnerable both Autumn and Huck were. I eagerly anticipated that moment when they got right to the core of how the other had been hurt. I wanted to really revel in that process of building each other up again. While there was some of that, this story focused mainly on the less complicated problem of will they, won't they? I absolutely pictured Rosa from Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Autumn. I didn't really have anyone in mind for Huck, but I appreciated the author's attention to detail when it came to his tattoos and piercings. Tattoos are absolutely in fashion in romance these days, but I find piercings - particularly anything more daring than ears - tend to be scarce. It's a lot of fun to see them here, and used to maximum effect. The heat level is high in Chasing Desire. Sex is an integral part of how Autumn and Huck first click so it stands to reason that there'd be some explicit, steamy scenes. As I said earlier, I quite enjoyed that Huck's piercings were utilized not only for their physical appearance but during these scenes as well.  It's a quick read that I really liked and would recommend to friends of the genre. Unfortunate that the cover image is so generic (and lacks the tattoos and piercings on Huck!)  Received in exchange for an honest review.

Sometimes it takes losing everything you thought you had secure to realize that you needed a different kind of security altogether. Autumn Lane is an out-of-work mechanic, house-sitting for a friend while she figures out what to do next. Having been betrayed and abandoned by the two people in her life she should have been able to trust, she's prickly, distrustful, and determined not to get tied down. Her one-night stand with a stranger on her first night in town should have been just that ... one night. Instead, she's stirred up a hornet's nest. Huck Galvin's friend needs him to babysit the friend's houseguest while he and his new wife celebrate their honeymoon. Huck doesn't really want anything to do with it, having been badly burned by the love of his life once before ... until he realizes that Autumn is the nameless woman with whom he had a one-night stand. For some reason, even though he's not the committing kind and Autumn doesn't seem interested in staying beyond her house-sitting gig, he can't stand the thought of being without her. CHASING DESIRE, by Joya Ryan, debuts from Entangled Publishing's Brazen imprint on February 16. Ryan writes real, hurting characters into impossible situations, maintaining tension throughout and making the reader wonder whether the romance will actually end well, which is a nice twist to an often simplistic genre. If you're not big on sex scenes, you should look elsewhere for your entertainment. The sexual tension between Autumn and Huck is scintillating, and the physical scenes between them are hot, enticing, and eye-opening, expanding the reader's understanding of the characters and their fears and personalities ... the mark of a master author. From the quick-paced dialogue (love those snarky comebacks!) to the well-rounded cast of supportive secondary characters right down to the very last page, you'll laugh, cry, worry, and hope over and on behalf of these characters. # # # Author: Joya Ryan Title: CHASING DESIRE Publisher: Brazen (Entangled Publishing) ISBN: 978-1-63375-216-0 Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this work from the publisher in exchange for an honest, though not necessarily positive, review. Chasing Desire is the story of two flawed characters who meet at a wedding party and fall for each other. Autumn Lane is a mechanic, who is in town for her best friend's wedding, is looking for a hot hook-up. She meets a stranger in a bar and they have an amazing night. She leaves with out his name. Later that week at the wedding, she meets Huck Galvan, her one night stand. They both have negative baggage that they bring to the relationship, but they slowly realize that their sizzling chemistry could lead to a real relationship.   I enjoyed this book more than some the previous books in the series. The story is between two equals that learn to communicate, compromise, and grow together. I also really like the supporting characters, including Huck's father. The story is sexy and well written.  I was given an ARC copy for an honest review.

Huck and Autumn(how cool of a name is that?) have a one night stand and agree to walk away. But do they? I have fallen in love with this series and as always, this book can be read as a stand alone story. Autumn is strong and can fix anything and her nickname is "Auto". Both of them have been hurt previously but have fantastic chemistry and you are brought into the story right from the beginning. Great story and well worth adding to your TBR pile.

Chasing Desire was a quick hot sensual read. Huck (love that name) was sex on a stick, bad boy with a nice guy heart. And Autumn was the female version of Huck. They were on fire together. I loved their walls they had built around them as well as their vulnerabilities. They were so cautious of themselves. This book was not overly dramatic, but sincere and endearing. I have read the other two in this series and this was a great addition. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Not by a long shot...  Review: I have read a few other books by this Author and I am never disappointed with her work.  What I like about the characters is that smart, independent and you can relate to them.  Huck is just a walking sex-on-a-stick, yum.  Even though he is a tattooed, seemingly bad boy, it just covers up a big old softy, who got sucker-punched by his ex.  Then he spends one night with Autumn and he is thrown.  The bad-boy who usually leaves is left and he just does not know what to do.  Autumn is a tough cookie, she has been dealt a bad hand with who she got for parents.  She is trying to move on and get over her Dad's betrayal and spends one night with Huck to forget for a little while.  And really once they are alone, the sexy starts and neither one of them can deny the chemistry between them. Well, that one night changes both of their lives and the romance that unfolds is fun, sexy and full of heart. I have not read the other stories in this series, but this is totally a book that can stand on its own.  I will be adding all the others in the series to my TBR pile! 4Stars

Can a one night stand lead to something more? That's the dilemma facing Autumn and Huck as they realize after they spend a hot and steamy night together that they aren't going to be strangers after all - they're involved in the same wedding party and now Autumn will be housesitting for 2 weeks for the newly married couple, with Huck having promised to show around the newcomer. When he finds out it's Autumn from his sexy overnight fling, he's quite happy to entertain her - but keeping his heart from getting involved is the plan. But you know what they say about the best laid plans... I loved this story! It's the first I've read from this author (though the third in the series) and while some of the characters are from the earlier stories, it was still easily read as a standalone (though I plan to go back and read the rest of the series now!). I found both main characters to be really unique and interesting. Autumn is an auto mechanic, toughing it out in a man's occupation with a fiery and pert personality. She doesn't plan to stay long in this small town, just helping out her friend with the wedding and housesitting - falling in love certainly isn't in the plan, but a little action doesn't hurt. Huck is sexy, playboy material but with a heart of gold underneath. Both of them have experienced heartache and keep up the facade that this is a sex only relationship while she is in town - though it doesn't take long for emotions to heat up as quickly as the bedroom escapades do. The sex scenes are steamy and intense and the chemistry between Autumn and Huck is scorching. It's a question of who will be willing to crack first and share their real feelings with each other. It was a great sexy read. 5 stars!
