About the Author

Kris Jayne is a devoted writer, reader, and traveler. She spends her days blissfully sweating out the writing process in the Dallas area with her dog, Otis the Shih Tzu (DNA verified after being told he was a Lhasa Apso).

Her passion for writing is only matched by her passion for the adventures of travel. In 2008, she let a friend talk her into sleeping outside for the first time in her life when she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

P.S. If you're buying her a gift, she has a penchant for single-malt Scotch and scarves.

How long is someone held accountable for their past? I mean come one how long do you want your mistakes dangled in front of your face. Finally facing up to her choices Shannon is on the mend. She's got a job, an apartment, she's sober and there's no man to screw her up. Then there's Jonah. With his screwed up family dynamics and a girl he can't get off his mind he's about to risk his father's wrath. This story isn't only about Shannon and Jonah it's about forgiveness and healing, for Shannon she has to forgive herself first. This author doesn't give us a nice and easy story, she gives us one from a lady strong enough to come back from the bottom. She gives us a woman that is strong enough to have a past but work towards a future and dare to dream. I love that eve though Shannon may not have made the best choices in the past, this author showed her growth and let her make better choices for her future.

There is hope for the hopeless. Shannon was introduced in Choosing You. She was hard to like. Her abrasive attitude made it almost impossible. Cherishing You explains more of who Shannon is and what set her on the pathway to self distruction. Her wake up call couldn't have come soon enough. Having to admit responsibility for past mistakes, she learned to love herself and wanted to make her daughter proud. I received a copy of Cherishing You in exchange for an honest review. Did not start out liking this character but her will to become a better role model and her road to forgiving herself and finding her own happiness earned my respect. You know it's good when I am floored by a person that I started out not liking.
