One day as I was riding by, I saw a ghostly raven in the stark fall sky. Almost like he was beckoning me, to venture to the old amusement park by the sea. Why would I be drawn to there? It's like there is something lost to be found, but where?
The abandoned amusement park for many years has been dark. Where once there were thrilling rides and a lively circus by the bay, now there's only rot and decay. The bustling midway is long since silent. The vibrant circus tent is now faded. The rides, the weeds have completely invaded.
As I am riding, the spectral raven swoops down. I say, "Let's ride back through town." My father says, "Why?" to me. I say, "Let's go to the amusement park by the sea." "But why on earth would you want to go there?" "To find something lost and important." But where?
So, we headed back through the sleepy town. With the raven at our side, he almost acts as a guide. We make our way down to the briny bay. We are unexpected guests. While there is still daylight, I find a rusted chest. My overactive curiosity is put to the test.
The raven watches on with a knowing look. He bids me the lock to unhook. This bird and this place are both from the same time. When on this spot a circus stood in its prime. My heart begins to race faster. With certainty, I know the raven is the ghost of the ringmaster.
