Children of Gaia
The Gaia people possess supernatural powers, including the ability to shape-shift. They must travel to the earth’s surface to perform the life-sustaining ritual of Renewal. Most of the time, Gaia change into humans, but sometimes they appear as a Bigfoot to scare people away from their homes. This transformation explains why there have been many sightings of a Bigfoot but never positive physical evidence of their existence.
Mica, twelve, is immature, impulsive, and fearless. Tera, his sister of fifteen, is naïve, romantic, and curious. When Tera gets in trouble with humans, known as Greedlies, Mica bolts into action to save his sister. Mica and Tera bumble and fumble through the fearful world of the Greedlies using creativity and youthful optimism to overcome humiliation and impending discovery. Captivity seems inevitable, until the teenagers rediscover the forgotten powers, called the Gift of the Sphere, and foil a billionaire’s quest to capture the Gaia and showcase them in his new theme park.
