This book had some amazing potential to be a fantastic romance novel it just seemed to drag a little too much through the middle of the book. I even ended up kind of skimming through a handful of chapters. The love between the two main characters was excessively slow to come about and once it did they both just skirted around the issue, which I find annoying. He feels he is showing her that he loves her and she thinks he wants only one thing from her. Many secrets have been kept from everyone involved in this story and as they are hinted at it becomes pretty fustrating because you just waiting them to spill the beans. On top of the two main characters there are several other characters whose relationship blooms, which I get but I would prefer for the two to have had their own story. I do have to admit I did find myself giggling at some of the antics of the characters. I absolutely loved the way Jack was always there for Constance and how he would do anything in his power for her to be safe. If you are looking for a sweet slow read then I would recommend this book.

I didn't expect to enjoy this book half as much as I did; however, after reading this book, I had to buy the rest of the series.  I'm not sorry I did.  Absolutely excellent.

The characters were wonderful and had makings of a good read. But the book dragged on unnecessarily and where the author could have build on she did not. It was lame, disjointed and the main characters didn't grow. Just one stupi ball after another.

Exquisitely paced so the Regency manners of the relationships seems true to period. Loved the characters!

I Love the camaraderie between the H and h. He is as alpha male and she is a reasonable female. The romance was good. The romance was somewhat descriptive toward the end.

How many different ways can she misunderstand intentions? Normally this would drive me demented, but this time it was just so funny. Really enjoyable story, characters, and endings.

This is a story about a young woman, Constance (Pixie), who comes to London at her friend’s requests to spend time with her and her brother, Jack. Jack is a Marquess and used to be Pixie’s guardian. In the beginning of the story it isn’t clear what’s going on but the friend, Virginia, is clearly suffering but the reason isn’t apparent. When Jack finds out that Virginia has agreed to help Pixie find a rich husband, Jack loses his temper and yells at Virginia who breaks down in fear. Pixie finally gets an inkling of what is going on with her friend and determines to scold Jack for his thoughtlessness. But Jack returns and is quite upset at Virginia’s breakdown, they are twins and have always been able to experience each other’s emotions when they are strong. He apologizes to Virginia and comforts her and asks Pixie to stay with her. This is just the beginning of a somewhat complex story. There are several things going on and we don’t get the reason behind Virginia’s reactions until later in the story but the book actually contains two romances going on somewhat simultaneously. It was a good book with a twofold happy ending. Very hard to put down.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. It's been awhile since I read one of Boyd ' hooks, but this one has reminded me of how much I like this author.
