About the Author

I was age 12 when God called me into the ministry. Looking back I realize it was a commitment totally by faith. I rode my bicycle to church until we moved away and then a youth director would pick me up for youth activities and church. After graduation from Hughson Union High School I went to Modesto Junior College for one year of electronics. On my 18th birthday I took the bus to Oakland to take the oath for the US Navy. The Navy made me a radioman, working in communications. Four years later I was given an honorable discharge. God led me to Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio and I graduated 4 years later with a pre-seminary Bible major. I still felt I needed some practical training and went to Hyles Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. While at the Hammond Baptist Church in Indiana, I was called by James Clemensen to pastor the Willows Baptist Church in Willows, California. During my 53 years in the ministry, 7 churches called me to be their pastor. Four of those churches were in California, my home state. Three of those churches were in New York, 2 of which God helped me to start. I pastored the Hall Street Baptist Church in Marysville for 16 years and was called to Agape Boarding School in Stockton, MO to counsel boys whose parents needed help. I currently preach chapel messages to the boys and counsel them 5 days a week. It was in those counseling sessions that the Holy Spirit gave me the book, Chosen For Deliverance. My wife Patricia has been beside me in the ministry over 24 years through all the trials of the pastorate. I give glory to God for allowing me and my wife to be in his army, winning battles and praising God for His mercy and his grace.
