Overview

For his 13th studio album, the star-studded Chris Tomlin & Friends, Tomlin brings in a myriad of songwriting and performance collaborators, mostly from the country-pop sector. With names like Thomas Rhett, Lady A, and Florida Georgia Line on board, he presents a track list full of gratitude, appreciation, and accessible, heartfelt anthems represented by titles like "Gifts from God," "Together," and "Thank You Lord." The latter song opens the album with both Rhett and Florida Georgia Line alongside Tomlin. Representing the contemporary Christian scene are guests including worship group We the Kingdom and Bear Rinehart of Needtobreathe, who is featured on the rousing "Power." One of the record's stronger songs, "Tin Roof" by Nigerian-born soul singer/songwriter Blessing Offor, closes the album with a hopeful, spiritual piano ballad. ~ Marcy Donelson
