About the Author

Bob Kellemen, ThM, PhD, is the executive director of the Biblical Counseling Coalition and the founder and CEO of RPM Ministries. Bob has pastored for over a dozen years and now serves as chair of the MA in Christian Counseling and Discipleship department at Capital Bible Seminary (Maryland). He is the author of 16 books, including Equipping Counselors for Your Church.

Stephen Viars, DMin, has served as the senior pastor of Faith Church in Lafayette, Indiana, for more than 30 years, where in addition to his teaching ministry, he oversees Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries. He is a frequent speaker at conferences nationwide and abroad, and the author of Putting Your Past in Its Place.

Bob Kellemen, ThM, PhD, most recently served as Academic Dean, Dean of Students, and Professor of Biblical Counseling at Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, IN. Bob is also the founder and CEO of RPM Ministries, through which he speaks, writes, and consults on biblical counseling and Christian living. Dr. Kellemen served as the founding Executive Director of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. For 17 years, Bob was the founding chairman of and professor in the MA in Christian Counseling and Discipleship department at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD. Bob has pastored four churches and equipped biblical counselors in each one. He and his wife, Shirley, have been married for over 40 years; they have two adult children, one daughter-in-law, and three granddaughters. Dr. Kellemen is the author of twenty-three books. 


Stephen Viars earned his DMin degree in biblical counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and has served as a pastor and biblical counselor for more than 20 years at Faith Baptist Church and Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries in Lafayette, Indiana. He serves as the president of the board of the Biblical Counselors Coalition, the vice president of the board of  Association of Nouthetic Counselors, and is a frequent speaker at conferences, colleges, and seminaries in the United States and abroad.
