Christina's Ghost by Betty Ren Wright

Christina is not looking forward to spending the summer with Uncle Ralph. She dreads the long days in the spooky, isolated Victorian mansion especially because Uncle Ralph dislikes her and there are no childen nearby to play with. Things change, however, when she sees the ghostly figure of a small, sad boy who mysteriously disappears before she can talk to him. Convinced that he's a ghost, Christina sets out to discover why he's there. Could he be linked to the murders that happened in the house thirty years before? And what evil, chilling presence is lurking in the attic? Betty Ren Wright adroitly combines a suspenseful tale fo the supernatural with the touching story of two very different people who learn to like each other.

Christina¿s Ghost by Betty Ren Wright is a fictional book about a ten year-old girl Christina who lives in a grim house and keeps seeing a ghostly figure who looks like a small boy. I really enjoyed this book because the book gave so much suspense and it moves quickly. The book was easy to read and the words were not difficult. The book takes place in a house that her uncle has to house sit for the summer and Christina has to stay with him because her parents are going to Alaska for the summer. Christina loves riddle books. Whenever she would read a riddle and laugh, she would see the ghostly figure. So Christina decides to look up about this boy, and finds out he used to live in this house. The small boys name is Russell Charles. Russell and his tutor, Thomas Dixon, were murdered because Thomas had stolen some rare stamps. The authors point of view was that she was trying to be suspenseful. She used a lot of foreshadowing during the chapters. The language she used was easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense. Also, who likes to read easy books. The lesson this book taught me was to face my fears.

I am currently a senior in college. But I remember reading this book in grade school. I remember it scared me more than anything I had ever read! It was memorable, and I recommend it to kids and adults. Wright does such an awesome job of capturing the reader, and she is so imaginative.

I read this book when I was in 4th grade. When I babysit I STILL read it to kids, and even now, as a high schooler, for my own enjoyment too. Its a kind of mystery book, the ones that get kids hooked on certain authors!

Turns out it wasn't actually about me but it was an amazing story despite that. It is beautifully written, I would recomend it for children and adults.
