Melissa McClone wrote a wonderful story about love. The love of friends. The love of family. The live for a career. The love of self, and loving someone more than your happiness. This was not a cliffhanger. You meet Gil anf Kat when they were youngsters at the same camp. Kat met Sophie, Gil's baby sister. The story started with the friendship between a princess and an American child raised in Rural, America on a farm. I enjoyed the evolution of the friendship between the characters. Ethics, morals, and humanity made the story heartwarming. For once, in a long time, no "STRANGER SEX". I would recommend this story to anyone!

This is the first book I have read by Melissa and I really loved it. Kat is going to her best friend’s wedding. Her friend Sophie just happens to be the princess of a small European country. They meet at camp 15 years ago. Now she is going to a bridesmaid in Sophie’s wedding. While she is excited about visiting Sophie and being in her wedding she hopes to avoid Sophie brother. Grown Prince Guillaume (Gill) is suspicious of Kat and always has been. He thinks that Kat influences Sophie to do things she wouldn’t normally do, things that her family don’t agree with. He thinks that she agreed to be in the wedding and is visiting so that she can find her own royal to marry. When Kat begins to show Gill how wrong he is about her his feelings for her begin to change. He is seeing her in a way he never has before. This book is a sweet romance without much steam. There is no sex in to book but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good book. Everyone once in a while I like a sweet romance vs a sexy or dark one. Kat is a wonderful girl. She is a vet and loves all kinds of animals. She is sweet, nice, and a great friend. She would do anything for Sophie. Gill is worried about her influence over his sister and why she is visiting. Gill isn’t always the nicest person to Kat but he loves his sister dearly. Once he gets to know Kat he finds out that he was very wrong about her. He finds himself wanting to spend time with her. Will there be another romance this Christmas? I loved all the characters in this book and can’t wait to read the first two books in this series. I couldn’t put this book down once I started; I read it in just a few hours. There were a few emotional parts and I almost shed a tear or two. I felt for Kat and Gill given their situation. Fear not though this book has a happy ending. Great job Melissa.

Friends Princess Sophia & Kat became friends when they met at summer camp in the states in 8th grade. They stayed friends forever. Now the princess is getting married and Kat is flying over to be a bridesmaid. Her only wish is to see her happy. Prince Gil & there mother think otherwise. Can they make it through the wedding & Christmas

It reminded me a bit of the 2004 movie The Prince and Me starring Julia Stiles. The story is more about the royal wedding than Christmas.

This is the perfect Christmas novella for a quick read with a fairytale ending. Who doesn't dream of being part of a royal wedding, visiting a castle, and meeting a prince? The twist is the heroine is an American veterinarian and the hero is a guy she met in summer camp who took an immediate dislike to her. It was fun to see the prince's attitude change and to see the wonder the heroine felt as she entered the world of royalty.

Christmas at the Castle was such a great holiday read that will leave you wanting for more. From the beautiful cover to the intriguing synopsis, McClone delivers a perfect story just in time for Christmas. When Katrina “Kat” Parsons is sent to camp as a teen she never imagined just how her life was going to change after meeting two siblings who turned out to be royalty. Now years later, she is working as a veterinarian when she gets the call that her best friend (Sophie) is getting married and she wants Kat to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. After talking back and forth about the country where her friends are from, Kat is excited to finally get to see their home. But she knows that Sophie’s brother, Guillaume has never really liked her and staying away from him might just be good for the both of them. Kat wants to make sure that Sophie’s day does not get ruined and if she has to put up with people that do not like her she is going to do that for her best friend. After being ignored by her parents growing up, Kat has had a rough time connecting to a family even though she was loved by her grandparents, it never really felt the same. It is when she found a best friend in Sophie that she felt like she gain a sister as well. That can’t be said for Sophie’s older brother Gill, as from the moment they met he put a distance between them and never really cared to make a connection with her. Now years later, they meet again in his home of Alistonia, a little European country who happens to be ruled by a monarchy. With the wedding approaching, Kat is on a mission to make her friend happy no matter what but things quickly changed the minute Gill starts to show feelings for her. Crown Prince Guillaume has never really liked Kat or taken the time to get to know her. Her ways are too different from theirs and he thinks that she’ll be a bad influence on his sister. When he sees Kat entering his castle for the first time he immediately sees just how much she has changed and he is attracted to her. She still has the same attitude, but there is something about older Kat that he is drawn to and he doesn’t like it at all. He suddenly feels the need to put a distance between her and his sister, before she ruins the wedding. Yet, after spending time together that he starts to develop different feelings towards Kat that could be dangerous for both of them if he is not careful. I loved this story, it had me reading non stop until the very end! I think a lot by now love a good royal romance and this one starts different and that’s what I liked about it the most. It’s evident that Kat and Gill don’t have the best relationship at the beginning and he does everything he can to make sure Kat doesn’t ruin his sister’s wedding. We get to learn more about Kat’s parents and why they left as well as why Gill is so uptight when it comes to his role in the family. He has been through a lot as well and when they’re together everything makes sense and they somehow fit together really well. Their interactions were nothing but sweet and you can see that Gill can be kind and caring, the perfect prince charming. I would highly recommend reading this story, it’s a great holiday read that will leave you swooning for the perfect prince charming especially after reading the ending! :)
