A story at Christmas time with horses and cowboys with a little suspense is a winner for me. This is a sweet and steamy read. I can't wait to read book number two, "Trace's Trouble", of the "Last Chance" series. "Christmas with Angel" is book number one in the "Last Chance" series. This is cowboy firefighter, Cole Hatcher and Lacey Winters' story. Lacey and Cole are engaged to be married and are in the process of building their new home. They are living with Cole's grandparents and other family members. It is hard for them to find private and quiet times. Cole wants to go to his mother's Christmas dinner. Lacey does not. She wants them to stay home and enjoy some private and quiet time. Lacey is also having a hard time forgiving Cole's mother for keeping them apart for eight years. Things do not go according to either Lacey or Cole’s plans. There is a little suspense and a few surprises on their Christmas day. Through Lacey and Cole's unexpected Christmas day they learn the importance of forgiveness, second chances, and the things that really most important. I enjoyed the horse, Angel, in the story. Cole has started a horse rescue place and Angel is one of their rescue horses. The story reflects on the abuse that some horses experience. It is really sad the abuse some animals and people may experience in life. FYI, includes mature content.

Christmas with Angel by Lexi Post is a fantastic holiday read!! Ms Post has delivered a well written book with plenty of action, drama and sizzle. Lacey and Cole's story is a fairly short read, a good choice for those with limited time for reading. The characters in Christmas with Angel are awesome, and I hope Whisper Adams gets a book of her own. I enjoyed Christmas with Angel and was a pleasure to read. Lexi Post has become one of my go to authors when I want a book I KNOW I'm going to enjoy. Christmas with Angel is book 1 of the Last Chance Series and can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Cole Hatcher is a cowboy/firefighter with a heart for the underdog. He is determined to have peace between his Mom and the woman he loves. Is such a thing possible? Cole is too soon figure out that is the least of his problems. This hero is strong, but a bit blind when it comes to his family. His love for Lacey is evident. Lacey Winters… now here is a lady who knows how to keep her man interested, she had me laughing at her choice of lingerie. All she needs to do now is deal with a soon to be MIL who is intent on removing her from her sons life, while staying alive to marry Cole. Cole and “Racey” Lacey really know how to heat things up in Christmas with Angel. Cole has to convince Lacey that his family is not all bad. Lacey loves them all but the Monster-In-Law. Can these two come together to make this Christmas a special one? I found myself saying to Lacey, “Lacey remember no on looks good in prison orange.” LOL! Supporting character’s even though there were few, I found them interesting enough for me to purchase more of Lexi Post books. I am very curious about one character her name is Whisper. This character has a story to tell. I hope we get it. This plot has WOW power. I was thinking Christmas with Angel was a family complicated romance with a spicy edge, boy I was wrong. The plot twist had me sitting up taking in every detail. Lexi Post gives us a story with a bit of suspense. I can’t wait to pick up another Lexi Post book.

This is book 1 (a novella) of Last Chance Series by Lexi Post. It reads like a full book. There was so much great story packed into this book. Cole Hatcher, hot cowboy firefighter, and his fiancee Lacey Winters live with five of his relatives on Last Chance Ranch. If you have read "Cowboy's Match (Poker Flat Series Book 2)" then you know the back story, but it isn't necessary to enjoy this book. Some sexy hot alone time two days before Christmas in the barn so the couple can have some alone time ends with a fight and a dismal Christmas to look forward to. Cole goes to the firehouse and Lacey takes a ride on her beloved horse Angel. While out riding, someone starts shooting. Feisty Lacey is in for the fight of her life. I love western romances and this one does not disappoint. I read it in one sitting, and look forward to more of this series. It has a HEA, and leaves you with wanting more. This one is a sure winner and a must read for all western romance readers!!! Although I have not read the "Poker Flat Series" yet, I now plan to. I was gifted an ARC of this book and asked for an honest review.
