All the works are written and read by former Rehearsal Club (TRC) professionals. In a kinder, more caring world there once was a place where young would-be actresses from out of town could find a safe, inexpensive place to live in New York City while seeking stage work. The Rehearsal Club--two brownstones joined together--provided such a refuge for actresses who included Carol Burnett, Teri Garr, Sandy Duncan, and others. This audiobook is a collection of first-person remembrances of TRC members from the 1940s to the 1970s. All the stories are fascinating, although some are delivered with more assurance than others.
