I liked this book. I like how different this book is. J... :-@ 28 pages
Such a refreshing unique story. Rae Z Ryans has managed to not only create a unique, and interesting story line, but fantastic character development into a short story. Following our main character Gilly through her routine at the local bowling alley in the southern town of Ember was so realistic. Down to the pecans bombing people walking below, maybe only southerners will get this reference? She is a quirky advice column writer, that feeds a stray cat, and goes bowling as her "escape". I don't want to give away too much but there ends up being an interesting supernatural twist to the whole story. It is defiantly a different kind of story, with supernatural elements, but the writing is superb, and full of life which sadly is getting more rare to find in stories anymore. This is a refreshing quick read that I can recommend to anyone. It is geared towards adults in the topics, but it is quite light, and not graphic or vulgar in anyway. I will be on the look out for more from this author!
Short, but good
Interesting story, but the writing is weird. Commas in the wrong places, oddly worded sentences, random jumps in time and action. Also, I prefer heroines who do a little saving themselves; the hero does all the saving in this. All in all, it was an okay free read.
