About the Author

My name is Jonathan Vine, and I was caught up in the vegetarian lifestyle a few years back. I have to say that giving up on meat did not strike me in a single moment, nor was it a swift decision. It was an inner journey that evolved within a few months. Eventually I came to realize that the thought of animals suffering causes me too much grief to continue eating them. That is my motivation.

I have always been very enthusiastic about cooking. For me this is absolutely one of the greatest joys life can offer. With my vegetarian cooking style, I never feel deprived, but rather, I feel satisfied and exhilarated with each bite.

My goal is to publish books that will empower readers to improve their health and well-being through simple everyday ingredients and low fat recipes that make eating affordable, realistic, and delicious.

I was slightly disappointed to find there were no recipes with meat (the subtitle does mention it is vegetarian though). I also noticed the use of canned products over fresh and eh - I guess everyone has their own "clean food diet" ideas but I try to stay away from anything in a can whenever possible! It would probably be a good starter book for a vegetarian who doesn't know what clean eating is. The recipes look simple and are relatively basic. The writing itself needs a little work. *I received this in exchange for my honest, unbiased review*

The grammar and sentence structure are so poor that reading the sections that introduce the book, and the concept of Clean Eating, is both annoying and distracting. The same goes for many of the recipe descriptions. In addition, I found that quite a few of the recipes depend heavily on the use of canned goods, and other ingredients that are far more processed than I consider to be "clean". Overall, I appreciate the effort, but not so much the result.
