## DNF. DISAPPOINTED. First of all, I detest stories with dead wives. Ugh. Why do authors think this is remotely romantic? Constantly comparing the heroine to the dead wife, the guilt from the hero like he's betraying her. Abby this, Abby that! Had I known that before, I would not have purchased this book. Second, this heroine owns a top security company, yet she forgets to turn the ringer off her cell phone while hiding from terrorists? Come on. Third, all the talk and threat of the rapes were depressing as hell. And finally, neither character was very likeable. I got about 3/4 of the way through and decided I didn't care about them. He could keep comparing every woman to his beloved wife and she could disappear to the private island she bought. Done with this series.

Anderson delivers another heart pounding thriller in the Crossfire series. Quentin and Haley are great characters and are so well written. The action starts from the beginning and it's a fast paced, page turner right to the end. I highly recommend this book to fans of the contemporary romantic suspense genre.

Colder Than Sin is the second book in Toni Anderson’s Cold Justice series. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Be advised this book deals with the very sensitive topic of rape and is not for everyone. Note: this review contains spoilers! Toni Anderson is one of those authors who always delivers. Her books are full of action, adventure, wonderful characters, descriptions that are so detailed you feel like you are there. And she doesn’t shy away from difficult topics either. Quentin and Haley were captured by a ragtag militia who just slaughtered almost everyone at a conference on safety. Intimidation is high on their list of weapons and Haley is doing her best to not let them get to her. But when she and Quentin escape, they find another woman being abused and they cannot leave her behind. But escape isn’t that easy. Quentin, Haley, and Darby are caught up in a game of cat and mouse that reaches a lot further than some islands in Indonesia. Even if they get out alive, will they be able to stay that way? I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!

Colder Than Sin is the second book in Toni Anderson’s Cold Justice Crossfire series. This series revolves around the FBI’s top hostage negotiators. So as you can imagine, the book moves at a pretty rapid pace. This is Quentin and Haley’s story and it’s a doozy. Caught up in what appears to be an act of terrorism, these two work hard to escape and to bring those responsible to justice. But of course, not everything is as it seems. The first half (or thereabouts) of this book was hard to read. Not because the writing was bad. Or the characters weren’t well developed. Toni Anderson always delivers great romantic suspense. But the subject matter in this book is very heavy. She touches on sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and rape. So if those subjects are a trigger for you, please be aware before you dive into this book. I will say that despite how emotionally draining those scenes were, the author did a great job showing how never giving up hope turns victims into survivors that can still thrive. NICUnurse’s Rating: To me, a great romantic suspense book will keep me guessing to the very end. This one absolutely delivered on that. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Toni Anderson threw in a plot twist I never saw coming. From start to finish, this book held my attention, gutted me and tore my heart to pieces for the female characters, then put me back together…a bit changed… I give Colder Than Sin by Toni Anderson 4.5 out of 5 stars!

4.25 stars--COLDER THAN SIN is the second instalment in Toni Anderson’s contemporary, adult COLD JUSTICE: CROSSFIRE romantic suspense series-a spin off/crossover with the author’s COLD JUSTICE series. This is FBI Negotiator Quentin Savage, and business woman Haley Cramer’s story line. COLD THAN SIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line/series is revealed where necessary. Quentin Savage was first introduced in book one Cold and Deadly. NOTE: Due to the story line content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers. Told from dual third person perspectives (Quentin and Haley) COLDER THAN SIN follows in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on Nabat Island in the Flores Sea, Indonesia during a security conference where most of the attendees were former military or security specialists. Running from a personal nightmare Haley Cramer finds herself in the arms of FBI crisis negotiator Quentin Savage, the man with whom she would fall in love. As our couple struggle to break free of the carnage at the local hotel, they will find themselves prisoners of a rogue band of guerrillas, barely surviving through the Indonesian jungle, and volcanic activity of the nearby islands. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Haley and Quentin as our couple struggle to stay one step ahead of a dangerous terrorist cell, and the potential fall-out as Quentin battles memories from the past, and the possible connection to someone involved with the hotel massacre. Quentin Savage had flown to Indonesia to negotiate the freedom of several American citizens currently held hostage by a militant group of soldiers. With no ransom demands on the horizon, Quentin finds himself struggling to locate the people in charge but never expected to be caught up in an attack at the local hotel. Haley Cramer was hoping to make contacts for her security business but finds herself the victim of unwanted advances by a business colleague. Making her escape, Haley lands in the arms of FBI negotiator Quentin Savage, the man who would save her life on multiple occasions. The relationship between Quentin and Haley is one of immediate attraction but Haley doesn’t do relationships, and Quentin is warned away by a confidant and friend. The attack against the hotel pushes Haley and Quentin closer together but it remains to be seen whether the adrenaline rush for the for fight of their lives will continue or be accepted back home. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Australian billionaire businessman Cecil Wenck: former military operatives Grant Gunn, Chris Baylor, and Nick Karlovac; FBI agent Alex Parker; business woman Tricia Rooks and partner Sean Logan; operator Logan Master, Eban Masters, and volcanologist Darby O’Roarke. I am looking forward to Eban and Darby’s story line. COLDER THAN SIN is a story of betrayal, revenge, terrorism and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing, suspenseful and gritty; the characters are animated, strong and resilient; the romance is captivating and seductive. COLDER THAN SIN is a spicy, timely and edgy addition to Toni Anderson’s COLD JUSTICE: CROSSFIRE romantic suspense series.

Wow, this is a romantic suspense masterpiece. I love this series and this is one of its very best worth more than 5 stars, such quality writing and intense plot. I think anything with Alex involved will be outstanding but this takes the cake for me. Very well written as usual, the author had me so wrapped up in the terrorist attack that I forgot about a very important clue until it presented itself again, full circle. Quentin is one smart, sexy, compassionate, charismatic and protective agent. He takes his job very seriously and personally. I remember Haley from a previous book and she really should be an agent, wow she is a survivor, very independent, smart and pragmatic. Their common ground is not only the terrorist attack but they have some emotional baggage, her issue is very sensitive (please read author's content advisory) both of their hearts are shielded in armor for realistically sad reasons. Two very strong-willed characters find themselves in a very dangerous situation, being desperate making them think, feel and chips at their armored hearts but what do they about it and how do they figure out that and survive for another day to work on it? I really love that this is another very detailed and well thought out story just when I thought it was over, I got another round. One of the best romantic suspense books I've read this year!!! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.

I am fan of Toni Anderson and I believe I have every book she has had published. Book 2 in Crossfire can be read as a stand a lone, but its so well written you want to make sure you have all the little bits and pieces that start in book 1. Heads up for those who have triggers, this has violent scenes, sexual assault, murder. That being said, it is not over the top barring every detail, but it is succinct enough to cause disturbance for some individuals. I am in love with Quentin, his intelligence, his compassion, his humor, his strength, OMG give me this man! I like the strength in Haley as she deals with the arrogance, and asshat of men in a male dominant world. This was a wild action pact ride with terrorist, bombing, gunfire, hostage, escape, and steamy sex. There is depth, there is pain, there is love it is a truly a colossal mind numbing ride. Some awesome secondary characters and twist and turns. Batten down the hatches, find a corner and indulge. Thank you Toni Anderson for the arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

This is a deeply engrossing and suspenseful tale filled with heart-stopping acts of violence, some which may be triggering, plenty of drama, a traitorous act you won’t see coming, and passion so intense it’ll keep your pulse pounding. From the very beginning Quentin Savage and Haley Cramer are drawn together, and what starts out as a casual connection explodes into a fight for their lives. The characters, both good and bad, are so well depicted that you are drawn into their world from the very beginning and held captive (no pun intended) until the end. The storyline is intense and so gripping that it will take you on a journey you won’t soon forget. I highly recommend this very exciting and, at times, heart-wrenching love story.

One will love Quentin and Haley, he comes to her rescue at a conference, which saved her life.He is an FBI negotiator and dealing with terrorists at this hotel. She is a strong willed person, but this has shaken her. The plot is a deep emotional look at terrorists, and a romantic attraction. It is fast paced, and another good plot for readers.
