About the Author

Sara Richardson grew up chasing adventure in Colorado's rugged mountains. She's climbed to the top of a 14,000 foot peak at midnight, swum through Class IV rapids, completed her wilderness first-aid certification, and spent seven days at a time tromping through the wilderness with a thirty-pound backpack strapped to her shoulders.

Eventually Sara did the responsible thing and got an education in writing and journalism. After a brief stint in the corporate writing world, she stopped ignoring the voices in her head and started writing fiction. Now she uses her experience as a mountain adventure guide to write stories that incorporate adventure with romance. Still indulging her adventurous spirit, Sara lives and plays in Colorado with her saint of a husband and two young sons.

This is a wonderful romance with so much grit and substance. I loved the characters, and the dilemmas involved were interesting from the perspective of coming from a rough childhood and not wanting to let anyone in. Zero trust. Overcoming this handicap is the major theme of this story for multiple characters, and it is very well written. Colorado Cowboy is an emotional rollercoaster and I loved it!

Colorado Cowboy, by Sara Richardson, is the latest in the Topaz Falls series. I have been waiting for Charity and Dev’s story since Richardson introduced Raines’s Renegades and it did not disappoint. Both Charity and Dev have a lot to learn about trusting people and what family looks like; Richardson pays as much attention to the family piece as the romance. Though not officially a second chance romance there are lots of second chance elements. I recommend this book to those that enjoy Kari Lynn Dell, Carolyn Brown, and Karen Rock. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

I read the previous book in this series by Sara Richardson and enjoyed it very much. This one was even better! If you haven't read any of the previous books, this totally stands alone. I predict that like me you will plan to go back and read all of them. This book was that entertaining! Besides a slow-burning romance, there was family drama, a bit of crime and a town full of charm and good friends. Charity is a champion barrel racer with a bit of a temper. She is estranged from her family and is haunted by past issues with them. Dev is a local deputy who is very attracted to her and steps in to save her at a bar. She didn't actually need protection; he saved her from an assault and battery charge because she was about to tear up a man who made a move on a young girl. One day Charity's sister shows up with her 13 year old son; she hadn't seem them in 10 years. The next day it appears her sister took off, and Charity is left with a sullen teenager. At a loss, she asks Dev to help her find her sister. Though I loved the romance between Charity and Dev, it was the family drama that totally drew me in. Dev, like Charity, had family issues as a child. He was adopted by a wonderful couple, but still dealt with wondering if he was good enough. Charity's dysfunctional family issues still affect her as an adult. Her nephew Brodie, her sister and mother were not likeable at all as they made their appearances in the story. By the end of the book, I absolutely loved them all. I bawled my eyes out. I can't wait to read more from this talented author. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Cowgirl and a deputy fell in love with this family drama love story. Charity is suddenly responsible for her nephew after her sister bails on her. She hasn't seen him in years and doesn't know what to do with a teenager. Hopefully, for her, the town deputy Dev offers help with the boy and finding her sister. There are also sparkle and strong chemistry between two of them and their connection increase and is broken when Charity sister comes back. Intense story, full of family drama and uncertainty. Both characters are well developed and likable. I really liked Dev he was a strong character, a person always willing to help. Charity had a hard past behind her and is hard for her to open to another person and to trust it. In the end, we see that mature decision is made and they have their HE. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Oh, I fell in love with Charity, Dev, and Brodie. I was right there with their pain, fear, and hope. I know this book is Charity and Dev working on a relationship, but Brodie becomes part of it even if he is just a kid. This has real issues in it that people must work through. Sara did a get job with that. Charity Stone is a champion barrel racer. She spends almost all her time with men, and she can hold her own with them. That is until Office Dev Jenkins comes into the picture. He treats Charity as a woman and not one of the boys and she is not sure how to handle that. One day her sister shows up and leaves her 13-year-old nephew Brodie with her and doesn’t say why. Now Charity’s life is turned upside down. Charity has always taken care of herself and never asked for help from anyone. That will not work anymore. Dev has wanted Charity since he first meets her after she move to Topaz Falls. She has always pushed him away and he doesn’t know why, but he keeps on trying. Now that her nephew is here, she is asking for his help. He is going to use this to make his move and start a relationship with her. When Brodie makes some mistakes that Dev can’t overlook because of his job it puts tension between him and Charity. Dev is trying to do his job without loosing Charity. Is that even possible? Can Charity learn to trust and is Dev someone she should? * ARC provided by NetGalley and the Publisher for an honest review.

So, I really enjoy when I pick up a book and you start reading and you realize you have read other book in the series, and you can't wait to find out what the characters have been up too. This book is exactly that, it was almost like turning on your favorite tv show or coming home after being away. I really had a hard time putting this book down. I really enjoyed how strong and independent Charity was but she also had this struggle about asking for help when it comes to those who mean the world to her the most. I also really enjoyed Dev, he's not this perfect hero and he faces his own demons. I love the small town read on this as well. This book does have a sex scene but over all the book was a really fun read and I can't wait for more from this fun group of friends and to catch back up with them. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

This is my first Sara Richardson book (I have another of hers on my tbr). This was heavy packed with emotions about family drama and suddenly Charity the main character has to raise her troublesome 13 year old nephew left by her sister who is on the bad end of the law. I wasn't prepared how this story was going to turn out (being the kind it was), but overall it was good.

Adored this one. I haven't read all the books in this series but easily read this one without feeling like I'd missed something. This story is full of family drama, a sweet slow build romance, and a tiny bit of mystery. Charity Stone is definitely a strong female character and I loved her sass. She's determined to do things on her own and doesn't like to ask for help. When she finds herself caring for her sulky thirteen year old nephew she quickly knows she is in over her head. Will she finally let the town sheriff Dev Jenkins get close to her and accept the help he's willingly offering? Highly recommend you grab a copy of this one and find out!

This is the first book of the series I have read, and rest assured that it’s definitely a stand alone. Charity Stone has made a name of herself not only as a champion barrel racer, but also as a gal that will handle anyone and anything. Her childhood was tough. One in which she had to take care of herself while her Mom paraded men. Dev Jenkins is the local deputy that has been attracted to her, though from the distance. When Charity’s sister drops her 13 year old son Brodie on her doorstep with a promise of coming back to get him, Charity is faced with a troubled kid who’s going through the same feelings of abandonment she went through as a kid. When he gets into trouble, Charity goes to Dev for help. While the story is engaging and the characters likable and complex, it’s the underlying story that will touch your hearts. A reminder that children who are neglected and/or abandoned by those who are suppose to care for them, will likely be adults that will carry that same feeling. An endeavor difficult to overcome. In this case finding someone who “gets” you and loves you, makes all the difference. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and the publisher. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
