Come the Harpies

COME THE HARPIES, a 2022 Maxy Award Finalist, is a timely, action-packed story that imagines the world 56 years in the future based on what's happening right now.

Egon Pace is a wayward senior at White Castle® High and a misfit in the violent, polluted world of 2076. He hates the things totalitarian America loves most: Shooting guns, leading Yakker troops in foreign invasions, and breeding early and often to repopulate a nation ravaged by environmental diseases and unbridled gunplay. His defiance gets him beaten, shot and humiliated until he finally snaps, lashing out against his school, the church, and the very nation where resistance is a capital offense. As the authorities close in to silence him, Egon and his girlfriend, Lynette, make a desperate break for a fabled utopian nation to the west. It's a race for freedom…a race for survival.

COME THE HARPIES is a spell-binding thriller, a coming of age story, but most of all, a cautionary tale if society doesn't soon change its ways.

About the Author

Carl Ehnis used to spend way too much time writing soaring marketing prose for a major financial services company. By night he tried to create magic by authoring such novels as MEDICUS, Verite, the curious non-fiction project called One Page a Day, and most recently, Race Riot. Now that he's ditched the day job, he's working on a new novel with the working title Let's Cook!. He's a life-long resident of New Jersey, has a wife and two married kids, two domesticated animals, plus other unwanted vermin taking up residence in the walls of his rambling 100-year old residence. Among his many interests include...well, you'll need to download One Page a Day for the complete list.
