Good story w/very unique plot. Fast-paced; kept my interest. My only real complaint is that the story is unfinished by the end of the book and you have to buy 3 more to get the ending. Also change of scenes should be separated at least by a line or symbol; simply switching in the next paragraph is confusing.

My only dislike is in the mechanics of separating plot/character lines, just a minor annoyance I got used to. Other than that a fast paced read that grabbed me quickly, by page 5 I couldn't put it down, by page 40 I was ready to rate it. FANTASTIC . One of the other reviews complained that it wasn't in touch with reality. Uhhhh.... Isn't that kind of the point of any good fiction? Especially in sci-fi I thought the point of reading it was to get lost in the authors version of reality, not to nitpick whether it's in touch with what you think is reality. When I read sci-fi (or fantasy) it's to be transported to an alternate world/reality. If I can think about it the author failed. This one didn't!

Reading this book, I thought it was written by a high-schooler. I looked up the author and I have found differently. I can't understand the positive reviews. The writing is as if the notes for an actual novel were published -- and that novel is nothing more than a standard MacGuffin. That said, on a completely different note, I can't abide the anti-Catholic stance of this book. There's no need to portray the Vatican as a band of murderers to tell this story.

Brilliantly written, Cosega Search challenges you to put the puzzle together as if you yourself were an archeologist who came upon the broken pieces of a mysterious vessel, a vessel that holds a long forgotten secret that must be figured out. The author, Brandt Legg, suggests that it is the past that sheds a light onto the mystery of the future. He has created a masterful modern story with clever dialog that moves the search along, combining modernity with references to antiquity, and he heightens the suspense as the Cosega sequence must be deciphered. Together with Ripley Gaines, the brilliant archeologist who has a controversial theory that he is yet to prove, you must dig into the clues and decode them in time, to prevent a calamity of immense proportions. “There will be a time at the beginning of the twenty-first century whence the earth shall reveal an impossible object. Within the stone is a light which will cause the holy city to collapse, for it shall erase the past, demonstrate all knowledge to be false, and the scriptures to be a hoax." Five stars.

WOW! What a killer of a book! Cosega Search, the first book in the Cosega Sequence Series, grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go! The plot centers around Rip Gaines, a present-day Indiana Jones, who has proffered an unusual theory about human evolution that has been discounted by the scientific world. Then, lo and behold, an ancient artifact surfaces at a dig in the Blue Ridge Mountains that not only proves his theory, but threatens to blow all the conventional wisdom about the origins of man to kingdom come! Thus, starts a thrill ride that doesn't let go! To say this book is fast-paced is an understatement. The involvement of the Vatican and its assassins in the plot is reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code, however, I must confess that I enjoyed Mr. Legg's novel much more than Dan Brown's international bestseller! This is a well-written, nail-biter that will keep you reading late into the night and have you begging for more when you are finished. Bravo, Mr. Legg! Thank you for a fabulous read! Can't wait to start the next in the series!

Cosega Search by Brandt Legg is an exciting, fast-paced story about an archaeologist who discovers an incredible treasure from millions of years ago -- a discovery that could change the fate of the world. Shortly after the discovery, Rip Gaines is off on a race to hide and protect his secret. Investigative journalist Gale Asher is on site during the discovery and joins Rip on his journey. The two of them are bonded by their trust in a mutual friend and their desire to find out the truth about the "Eysen." Their journey takes them from a  dig on a hillside in Virginia to the ruins of a church in a forest and on to Taos. Along the way, they and their allies try to avoid being killed or captured by the FBI or the baddies from the Vatican. Caused Search is well-written and filled with memorable characters including the laid-back dude who accidentally becomes involved in the action and the mysterious old man in the woods. The book ends leaving the reader wanting more! Luckily, books 2 & 3 in the series are available. Da Vinci Code fans will love this story. This book would make an excellent film.

What an incredible story! The start of this book grabbed my interest straight away and had me hugged right through to the finish. What a fascinating story, built around this incredible assumption, that the discovery of this artifact could possible change the world. Ripley Gaines the clever archaeologist is on the run to protect his finding. As I was reading the book it felt like I was right there in the story experiencing this exciting adventures journey. Well written and I can’t wait to read Brandt Legg’s next book.

Cosega Search is my fourth read from brilliant author Brandt Legg. I’d like to say this novel is a mix of ‘Indiana Jones’ meets ‘The Fast and the Furious.’ There was no downtime here, as this high impact adventure had me hanging on every twist and turn. I have a love for archeology and this one had me at ancient artifact. Archeologist Ripley Gaines has found the ultimate artifact and the world is out to get their hands on it at whatever cost. Ripley and Gale, his photographer sidekick are running at break- neck speed trying to save a piece that may change the world as we know it, while also trying to save their lives. Threads of spirituality are woven throughout the novel, which add to the mystery and intrigue having ties to Ripley’s discovery. Congratulations,Mr Brant Legg, you have another masterpiece.

"Cosega Search," by Brandt Legg, ought to be a movie. Or maybe a big miniseries that covers  both "Cosega Search (The Cosega Sequence Book 1)" and its sequel, "Cosega Storm (The Cosega  Sequence Book 2)." A driven archaeologist uncovers an artifact that will change the world. As soon  as the find becomes known, shadowy foes ans the usual suspects both try killing everyone who knows  the find exists. The boo description itself gives you a whiff of what's in store: "He had been looking for  it his whole life. When he finally found it, it made no sense. Now everyone wants it. Nothing will ever be the same again.

This is the last novel in the trilogy. I loved it! I am such a fan of Brandt Legg. The whole series was a pager turner. Cosega Shift (The Cosega Sequence Book 3) leaves you craving more of his excellent work. I highly recommend and give him the highest marks for his exciting, gripping Sci-Fi bestsellers.

If you hate the Catholic Church, this book shouldn't offend.

I started reading this and because it is scifi/fantasy was naturally willing to put reality aside for a while but even so I have limits. I was willing to go along with vatican assassins for a bit since I'd done so for Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" but the author goes too far even for this atheist. He offers patent nonsense as if it's actually truec as a BASIS for his story, such as evolution is "full of holes" (not at all), or the Catholic Church teaches/believes in creationism (exactly the opposite in reality). Thus, when a story takes place in the present it really needs to be careful which parts of reality it screws with in order to maintain enough plausibility to carry the rest of the scifi/fantasy. You have to be careful to allow the reader to suspend disbelief without going too far and crumbling the whole ediface. This author went too far with the wrong facts. The characters are fine, as such, being typical for this type of story, and it is fast-paced but I just can't continue when so much of reality is required to be suspended in order to carry the story. Three stars for the pace and interesting basic premise, but downgraded because of being too fast and loose with fundamental facts.

This is a great action packed sci-fi adventure! Truly one of the best I read in the genre since a long time. Great plot and character building. Recommended!

This story is centered on national treasure and an archaeology dig, with the main character, Archaeologist, Rip Gaines, single minded obsession with the origin of human beings and his Cosega Theory. As a general rule, the subject of archaeology is dry and dusty, as are the objects discovered, but not so this time. Not only did this find come with shooting lights, it seeks to disprove all prior theory about the origins of human being. Legg gives the reader, some of the excitement one expects from a dig and a whole lot more: Action, suspense, conspiracy and murder, make this story move along at a nice pace, as, like layers of an onion, the Cosega Theory, took on a life of its own. It went from being a theory, to becoming a fact, with the finding of Eysen, an eleven-million year old computer. This is a fascinating book and Legg presents in such a way that one cannot help but want for more!

I think his work is simply brilliant and this is no exception. One of the best sci-fi books I've read. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

I read and reviewed Brandt Legg's Inner Movement trilogy some time ago and was delighted to find out he had since written another series. This is the first book in the Cosega Sequence trilogy and, as the Inner Movement trilogy did, this book ticks all the boxes. It is thriller, mystery, and sci-fi all tied up in a wonderful package that I highly recommend.

I loved the Inner Movement Trilogy, which was written by this author. The "Cosega Search" might be even better. An excellently written thriller, with action and adventure, this sci-fi novel will grab you from the beginning and leave you eager for book two. Well done, Mr. Legg!

I was given this book in return for an honest review. I read book two in the series and I was really impressed. I was happy to read the first book Cosega Search which provided amazing details on Ripley Gaines' search for the elusive artifact and he struggle to prove that his theory was correct. Brandt Legg is a gifted author with an amazing imagination that takes the reader on a wild ride and through tons of emotions, such as excitement, romance, wonder, mystery, betrayal and murder. I was hooked to the story from the very first page and did not put the book down until I was finished. It is a brilliant unique book that will keep the reader eager for more. It is the perfect read for Sci-fi lovers and people who love to discover wonderful authors with high creativity. I am a fan.
