Can I just live in this world? Please?? I can always count on Anna Zabo to deliver a romance that just hits me right in the feels. Counterpoint gives us commanding, cinnamon roll Adrian and the wicked sharp musical (and fashion) stylings of Dominic Bradley. I want to re-read this one asap. Dominic is chilling in his everyday persona, reading his erotic literature, when Adrian Doran sits down next to him. Dom likes the man something fierce, but Adrian wants nothing less than a full commitment. And there is one little secret Dom isn’t sure he can ever give up… That he is a rock star in hiding. I loved everything about these two. Even though there’s a secret between them, they had an honest, heartfelt connection from minute one. You could feel the tension burning your skin. But Adrian doesn’t want a one-time hookup. He wants commitment. He only hopes whatever Dom is hiding won’t be the end of them. They both have such relatable things to go through—personally and as a couple—and it kept me glued to the pages. I’ve had a hard time recently finishing a book, but this one had to be pried from my hands. I got teary-eyed and happy sighs throughout. The kink is superb here, too, and they’re both so accepting of the other even as Dom is figuring out his own wants, needs and desires. A few of the scenes sent me for a loop, but dang, but I loved them so much! Consent is a one-hundred percent at all times, too. I recommend this series so hard and will continue to do so. I can’t wait for the next! Oh, and if you’re a foodie…this one will leave you hungry. Lemon, anyone?

Although the idea of Dominic successfully hiding his identity in our crazy, connected world stretched my suspension of disbelief a little, I was immediately sucked into the story behind his creation of an alter-ego to deal with crushing social anxiety. My heart broke for him every time he imagined the terror of having his two worlds collide. The resolution of that conflict was very believable to me, and although I could see how Adrian would fit into Dominic's world early on, it didn't feel contrived. Domino's relationship with Adrian couldn't have been more perfect. I immediately fell in love with their dynamic and the BDSM-tinged sex was beyond hot. Even the way Adrian handled discovering Dominic's secret was perfect. Enough hurt to make it realistic, while not being over the top. This author is new to me, so I haven't read the first book in this series, but the characters and backstory are woven into this book very smoothly so I never felt like I was lost or like I being fed information. I'll definitely be looking up other books by this author.

*´¨✫) Worth the read. ¸.•´¸.•*´¨)✯ ¸.•*¨) ✮ (¸.•´✶ (¸.•`Countering with 4.5 star goodness "Domino Grinder had become an unapproachable force of nature. A sex god no one could touch. Rock star most of the time, but a twink in bed." I have always meant to read an Anna Zabo book, but the timing just wasn't right. Today, I ventured in and I am kicking myself because, ohmigawd, I just cannot get enough. This author can write. I actually FELT the chemistry exude off of the pages and seared my skin. There was not even any need to get hot and heavy because just having Dom and Adrian in the same room was enough. They clicked on sight and though hesitance was the name of the game, they were just made for each other. Blending his two personalities had never been easy for Dom. On stage he was the incomparable rocker Domino Grinder, heartthrob. And in real life, he was Dominic, the hot geek who was a book freak. Meeting the alpha-like Adrian was a dream come true. Dom had never thought he could have it all, but it was all falling into place. Now if only he could be truthful and still have the man he was falling for. Adrian and Dom had the makings of forever. Adrian wanted it all, but he just needed his geek lover to open up and give their relationship a chance. What would it take to give them the world. You won't know until you one click. I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the publishers through Netgalley.

Anna Zabo has done it yet again, writing a glorious, kinky romance featuring a reluctant rock star and a toppy tech exec, making it a shoo-in for my favorites for the year list. Dom’s “split personality” was described in Syncopation; Domino Grinder is the bold and confident stage presence but his true self is Dominic, bow-tie wearing nerd and bibliophile. Dom believes if his secret is revealed, it will be the end of his career. Pansexual and 10 years older, Adrian Doran is drawn to Dominic during a chance meeting in a cafe and the attraction is sealed through the erotic consumption of lemon meringue pie in public. (Yum!) As they begin seeing more of each other, Adrian guides Dominic through the BD part of BDSM that he craves. It’s fairly mild; cuffs and rope in the bedroom, no impact play or pain plus both men are occasionally versatile. I really enjoyed the balance the author achieved between the personalities of the men themselves. Sex scenes that are integral to the story never seem excessive with the judicious use of exposition for some. Dominic’s fears are deep-rooted and his secrecy becomes a major obstacle to the future of the relationship when Adrian discovers the deception. Naturally Zavier, Ray and Misha are on hand to offer support and advice for Dominic and Adrian has his own friends who add interest to the narrative. His friend and co-worker Jackson has a strong role and later he discovers friend and kink-advisor Janelle has a tenuous connection to Zavier. (I’d love to see a story for Jackson in the future, although he has a boyfriend in this story and seems quite vanilla) Adrian also has to contend with problem co-workers and dissatisfaction with his job, all of which adds texture and dimension to this fresh take on a secret identity trope. This could be read as a stand-alone fairly easily I think but I hope you don’t deprive yourself of Ray and Zavier’s story! I recommend this one quite highly. #Counterpoint #NetGalley
