CRIME SMASHERS began publication by the Trojan Magazine in October of 1950. Trojan is best known for their line of Spicy pulps, starting with Spicy-Detective Stories. Its popularity spawned four more "Spicy" titles, including Spicy-Adventure Stories. One of the publishers connected to the Culture/Trojan group was none other than co-founder of D.C. Comics, Harry Donenfeld.
