Steve Brezenoff is the author of more than fifty middle-grade chapter books, including the Field Trip Mysteries series, the Ravens Pass series of thrillers, and the Return to the Titanic series. A great story for upper elementary students! What students of this age like more than anything else is scary stories and this one is very good! It has the perfect elements for a good story: the perfect location where sinister things happen (Raven's Pass), inanimate objects coming to life and a mysterious, questionable past. I will be adding this series to my school library.

NetGalley Review

This moves along quickly and has action in almost every chapter. The illustrations are fabulous and the ending leaves the series open to more curse-filled adventures. Younger readers will enjoy this. It's a nice stepping stone into the darker books like the Goosebump series.

Kids Books Central

The plot reminds me of Stephen King's Christine with a little bit of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps thrown in. Kids will like the main character Jace as he tries to stop more accidents from occurring. The narration gives out a creepy vibe throughout the story, but it stays at a G-rating. I liked my first venture into Ravens Pass and I'll definitely want to return for future books.
