D.W. is a very picky eater, so picky that it eventually causes her problems. So now whenever they go out to eat and they give her a salad with spinach in it, she throws it. She therefore she is no longer allowed to eat out with her family until she sees her father with a tiny paper umbrella and she starts to wonder what she has been missing and goes out to eat with her family for her grandmothers birthday and she eats Little Bo Peep Pot Pie, and loved it and finds out that it is full of spinach.
DW is an extremely picky eater (more than me!) She won't try anything new and has a long list of things she doesn't like. She decides to give things a try when she missing going to a Chinese restaurant and getting a little umbrella. She tries something new and loves it- later she finds out it was a pie filled with spinach!
Both of my children adored this book when they were 3. We had a good laugh at DW's tantrums and the surprise ending. This is a great way to gently teach restaurant manners and have fun. Marc Brown has done it again!
I loved that book so much I would read it a thousand times
