Daft On The Nile: Travels In Egypt 2014
Egypt is a country in which I will always have unfinished business. The history, the people and simply the everyday hustle and bustle will always draw me back. Having experienced such hope in the immediate aftermath of their Arab Spring, this trip found the country in a totally different mood. The hope seemed to have gone as had most of the tourists. Join me on a trip to Cairo and then on a boat sailing down the Nile from Luxor to Aswan. Take in some of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, thousands of years of history and a country where the bizarre is quite often the norm.

About the Author

Born and raised in Berkshire, in the South East of England, Kevin Scott declined the offer of studying at Eton and ended up at one of the worst comprehensive schools in Bracknell. Somehow he managed to get a few A levels, and as he had a season ticket for Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club, ended up at University there doing a History degree.
History degrees are fairly useless, so mundane jobs were supplemented by a passion for writing comedy. A couple of successful TV submissions later, an Edinburgh Festival appearance and a pilot show for the BBC which saw him doing a ventriloquist act with a talking kebab, Kevin found his real vocation in life. Leaving the country.
The accounts of his travels have previously been serialised for local talking newspapers for the blind and now by popular demand (by a group of blind octogenerians in Kent) are available in paperback.
Kevin's writing combines a passion for history, a cynical view of the modern world and a silly sense of humour, resulting in an easily read narrative that is both entertaining and informative.
