Overview

Damaged by Willow Winters

I married the bad boy from Brooklyn.

The one with the tattoos and the look in his eyes that told me he was bad news.

The look that comes with all sorts of warnings.

I knew what I was doing.

I knew by the way he put his hands on me; how he owned me with his forceful touch.

I couldn’t say no to him, not that I wanted to. That was then, and it seems like forever ago.

Years later, I’ve grown up and moved on. But he’s still the man I married. Dangerous in ways I don’t like to think about. Sexy as sin, he attracts all the wrong kinds of temptations.

The kind that lands a couple like us in the gossip columns.

The kind that’s unforgivable.

The kind that splits up marriages.

I did this to myself. I knew better than to love him.

And now I’m fucked.

I married the bad boy from Brooklyn. And I don’t know how to survive this.

OMG this book was amazing! Kat and Evan have secrets in their marriage. They have always had amazing chemistry but will that be enough to save their marriage. This story is intense and heartbreaking. I loved the poems at the beginning of each chapter. I felt like I could relate to the characters as real people. Loved Damaged so much I jumped right in to the second book. I recommend this book for anyone who loves romance with some suspense thrown in.

This book tore me apart. It ripped up my heart and twisted my stomach into knots. Both characters so bruised and damaged, they bring so many emotions to the surface. I look forward to reading the next book. It does leave you hanging at the end and wanting more.

Jesus, just when you think your emotions are safe, you start crying again. This book ripped me apart again and again. The back and forth between Kat and Evan is so true to real life and heartbreaking that it was almost too painful to read at times. And the "ending" jeez I can't wait to see what happens next. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review

This story about a disintegrating marriage is heartbreaking. Kat and Evan love each other so much but he has done a lot of bad things, kept too many secrets, and now it's catching up with him. Kat deserves answers if there is any hope for them to move forward but will the truth set them free or will it sever their connection forever? The writing here is powerful and heart-rending. Willow Winters made me feel the anguish of these characters - Evan's desperation at the thought of losing Kat; Kat's sense of betrayal, her anger, and grief. I hate cliffhangers but I knew what I was getting into before I started reading this book. Now I am just trying to be patient as I wait for the conclusion of Kat and Evan's story. It will take a miracle to come back from the dismal end of this book but I know Willow is going to turn it around!

Damage touch my heart in different ways. As the story unfolds in front of me. I can experience a real event that happens in real life between a married couple. Going through a break-up. The poetry is well descriptive expressing every emotion and feeling characters goes through. I tear up and ache hoping there was light in the dark. Kat is no longer the happy wife. Her heart is in pain. Losing herself from her surroundings. Thinking her husband Evan cheated on her. Expecting an explanation from Evan to tell her the truth. The only response she receives from him. Is he didn't cheat and he loves her. She want's to believe him. Making her feel insecure about her love for him. What happens when lies and secrets begin to come out. I recommend you to read this book. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.

Kat and Evan Thompson are a married couple heading in directions but neither one wants to end what they have either. Kat knows that Evan is lying to her but doesn't know why. Evan wants to tell the truth yet fears he'd lose Kat in the end. Can this couple mend the pieces of their broken marriage? Damaged takes a look at the whole married life and explores how the couple sees themselves in the relationship. For me, Damaged represents what Imperfect was to me another Willow Winters novel. The poetry headers at each chapter show precisely how each person is feeling and I'm blown away by the depth the poetry gives the book. The story and characters are rich, bold, complicated, complex, frustrated, curious, and mysterious. I look forward to the next book Scarred.

Oh my freaking God I can believe that I have a new book from this author... I love her books so much. Every single one of them made me even more addicted to reading. And believe this is a big thing because I used to hate reading. Willow Winters is one of the responsible for that fact. Her writing is hot, intense, simple and with so much feeling behind each word. Damaged is her latest release and tells the stories of Evan and Kat. Evan and Kat are a couple and their relationship had seen better days. Their marriage is in jeopardy because the lies, secrets and sins can kill it, Evan made some mistakes but he can't confess and because Kat is unsure of what she wants. They really love each other but they don't know how to handle all this mess. They have some serious problems to deal with. Let's just say that once the book ended I was mad and overwhelmed. I'm broken and my heart feel so heavy that I can barely breathe. The plot is superb, very well written with tons of feelings into the mix. The interaction between the characters is raw, bumpy and a little wild. Get ready for the most heartbreaking and intense rollercoaster ride of your life. Grab some tissues along the way because this book has lots of angst, madness, emotions and some hot stuff as well. There were parts of the story that I thought I couldn't keep going on and I wanted to slap the characters. And there were others that I cried so hard and couldn't see the pages. Jesus what a mess. I'm so mad, in a good way, because the book ended like this... I want the next one. Where is it Willow? Gimme, gimme. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

This book started off kind of slow for me but once the secret was revealed it was a steady pace of good. Willow takes us on the story of Evan and Kat, Evan is holding a secret and we follow the emotional heart-wrenching rollercoaster of how they process it all. Can't wait for the next in the series.

Heartbreaking poetry in motion... This is the first part of the second duet in the Sins and Secrets Series. This duet chronicles Kat and Evan's relationship. And just as in the first duet in this series, you can expect high angst and emotion. Kat loves Evan, always has and always will. There's something about Evan that calls to her, and pulls her in. Evan is a fixer, always balancing the fine line between legal and illegal. Until Evan's caught in a situation that could cost him everything. Including the one thing his soul can't bear to lose. His wife. When the story opens, the stage is set and you know there's something that has happened that is ripping these two apart. But the story is slow-building, and the author takes her time to peel back the layers, revealing little bits of what happened to keep you wondering while also taking the time to show you how they met. The writing style is poetic, beautiful, and overflowing with emotion. The love is there, it bleeds from the page. But so does the heartbreak. There's a constant state of sadness and pain pulsating throughout the story. You have two people who obviously love each other with a soul-deep connection, but feel they are individually damaged. So they are constantly refereeing a battle between the heart and mind as to whether it's healthy to stay together. You can't help but turn the page and cross your fingers, hoping it's not too late for them to make it work. The story feels real and takes you through a painful journey. It has bite. It's not a fluffy, happy read. Luckily, the author doesn't make us wait long for the conclusion of the duet, because I can't wait to read the rest of Evan and Kat's story. /I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. This did not affect my opinion of the book or content of my review./

I was provided an ARC for an honest review. I'm a huge fan of this author, but to me this book was slow to get started. It's a great story, and you'll feel the passion and turmoil in their relationship, but it just seemed a little repetitive; however, that being said, I'm still anxiously awaiting the next book! I think the love story is very true to life in that when major events happen in a relationship and serious choices have to be made, it's not always easy making a decision when it comes to matters of the heart.

Damaged, such a strong word and the perfect title for Willow Winter's latest release. This story tore my heart to pieces from the very beginning to bitter end. Evan and Kat have the kind of love that many don't see in a lifetime. But with time, that love had become victimized by lies, secrets and deceit. In the beginning, Kat fell hard for the bad boy, and as much as Evan tried to deny what he felt for Kat in the end he fell just as hard. They were inseparable, partying with Evan's clients and loving one another like crazy. As Kat's carrier took off, they started to spend less time together. Evan once loved the rush he felt when he was out doing his job, but the last couple of months it has felt more like a prison. As much as he wants out, he can't because of a secret that has damned him to hell. Kat is finally at the top of her game, one of the biggest sought out editors in New York. However, her fame has costed her personal life. Slowly Kat and Evan find that their drifting further and further apart. So when rumors surface that Evan is unfaithful, and he doesn't deny it, Kat questions his actions. I am a sucker for a good girl turning a bad boy around. I had high hopes that Kat would be able to pull Evan out of the hell he was drowning in, but the lies, secrets and deceit drowned their love instead. It is so evident how much they love each other. How much they both need each other like their next breath. But he terrible secret that Evan is keeping is eating him up and destroying any trust that Kat has for her husband. Can Kat and Evan survive this or is it finally over?

I started Damaged knowing that it would be something I enjoyed because, let's face it, Willow Winters wrote it. However I did not expect the instant emotions she would make me feel with her brilliant words. Damaged is so beautifully written that you find yourself effortlessly lost in the world of Kat and Evan. I want to know right away what happened and want everything to be fixed so the pain will stop, but I can't help but want it go slow and steady. Experiencing what Kat experiences, trying to figure out just what the heck Evan did and how he is going to fix it, and feeling the love they so deeply feel for each other. With Damaged you get it all. You get love, heartbreak, friendship, hot sex, a villain or maybe two (jury's still out), and suspense of what could happen to Evan. The ending had me wishing Scarred was already out, but on the other hand, I need a minute to compose myself. This story is just absolutely amazing. Willow Winters writes a story so well you forget it's not real. You're instantly transported into the lives and minds of Evan and Kat and it's the best experience. I highly recommend you read Damaged. It's well worth the cliffhanger.

How does a marriage survive when you're caught on film in a very compromising position and while they say a picture can say a thousand words, just what are the words they are really saying? Tortured soul Evan ponders this very question everyday. Caught between a rock and a hard place, there are aspects of some jobs that cannot be disclosed even to the ones closest to you, wives included. Secrets, lies, half thruths... what's real and what is not? Is love and blind faith enough enough to get you through something that may seem unsurmountable, or do you give up the fight? That is the very question our dear heroine Kat asks herself on a daily basis. Willow Winters takes you on a very emotional rollercoaster ... have a box of tissues ready my fellow readers... I cannot say enough wonderful things about Willow. Her writing is smart, funny, light, dark, sexy, erotic and spellbinding. I personally cannot get enough of her stories and anxiously await the next installment and I'll willing to bet you will too!

5+ DAMAGED HEART STARS!! OMG....I am still trying to catch my breath, my heart is shattered into a million pieces. This book took me to a dark place with angst, broken hearts, slow burn, love and pulled and twist my hearstrings. Evan and Kat have a beautiful and twisted relationship that definitely needs work. Willow Winters is a phenomenal author that can take us to the dark side with light streaming through. This book ends with a cliffy and I am dying to read the second book Scarred. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. wow! A great start to another Sins and Secrets Duet by Willow. In this one we meet Kat and Evan. Two people who met and fell in love and are now having some problems brought on by Evans work. He is keeping secrets and lies about what has recently happened with his work from Kat. They have also both been working a lot and it is putting a strain in their marriage. Evan is trying to fix what has been going on and does not want to lose Kat. The two have had a deep connection from the beginning and it is clear the love runs deep. This was a well written story and I loved the chemistry between the two. Since this is the first book in the two book story it ends with unanswered questions as to what will happen with Kat and Evan and how what he wants to finally reveal to her about what truly happened with work. I can't wait to see how this story continues and find out if they can find a way to finally really communicate and work together to overcome everything that come their way.

I think I'm a bit Damaged after reading the newest duet by Willow Winters. I sat down this weekend and finished this book. I was emotionally done by the time I finished this book. And my heart feels like it's torn open with the ending. I can not wait for the second book to come out and see if Evan and Kat will finally fight. I cried hard. The secrets, lies, and the sins of these characters will make you hurt for them. All the feels that hit you at once will overwhelm you. I could not ask for a better experience. I got lost in this story and even though these characters have their own faults, I love them and hope in the next book they get through their dark and find their light. This is a must read! I could not put the book down.

Soul-Stirring read that tugs your heart as you are lured into the lives of Kat and Evan. Two ships passing in the wind have been their marriage for awhile due to their jobs. Evan has been harboring secrets he fears will end their marriage but Kat believes he has been lying to her which has her reeling in pain. They still deeply love each other but she now believes that love is not enough to keep them together. Evan's love for Kat is so true and he knows deep in his tormented soul that he is the blame for their issues; he will do whatever it takes to fix what is broken. UNFORGETTABLE fabulously well-written story. The reality of this story is quite impressive and keeps you turning pages until the last word. The author has weaved words with poetry to help you visualize the mental anguish that both Kat and Evan feel. The story also shows their happy times together. There is a bit of action and the vivid steamy romance scenes are breathtaking. I felt sincere empathy for both Kat & Evan and I yearn to learn the end of their story. I did find this to be a most gratifying read; relished it and {voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without, reservations I recommend this read.
